The succulents are enjoying the springtime weather.

Did You Know? - The word "succulent" comes from the Latin word sucus, which means "juice" or "sap". This is because succulents have thick leaves that contain nutrient-rich sap.

If your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life!

When my husband, Del Kuhn of over 40 yrs. died in 2021, I grieved deeply. Compelled to create a visual piece of art, I had this commissioned. It was designed to reflect his life & our history. The quail he hunted, his lucky coin, him fishing, the coveted trout, marshmallows toasting over fire, 2 raccoons in tree (called our grandsons 'bandits'), pine cones for crafts later, his favorite wildflowers, deer/elk he hunted, his beloved airplane and secret images in the mountains.

Even the note, he wrote me 50+ yrs. ago copied on the painted tree. The river represents the sum of my grieving tears but I have learned to 'go with the flow.' Life is for the living. The 'stars' light up at night. His memory plaque is displayed. He was deeply loved and is missed. (Google his name)

Throughout, are his collection of watering cans hanging from hooks. At night, the trail of twinkling stars light at the spout & appear as stars sprinkling the plants. Magical looking!

This 2nd mural designed for healing, grateful to have a large group of family & friends who supported me in my deepest grief. Sometimes I need to be reminded of this during my  'sad days.' Each flower represents my supporter's favorite flower, reminding me that I am not alone. The dbl. rainbow, colored sky, clouds, hill trail all have meaning.
I thank GOD for all my blessings.

Sandpaper Plant?

Did You Know? - Sandpaper vine Also known as Petrea volubilis, this vine has stiff leaves that feel like sandpaper. The leaves are rough and dry, and scratch makes a crinkly sound. The plant has pale blue to violet, star-shaped flowers that hang from the vine. It's found in tropical regions from Southern Mexico to Paraguay, and also in Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola. In Indonesia, the young shoots are used to treat snake bites, and the fruit is used to treat the common cold.
