We were hoping to have Carri and Greg with us but alas, Carri had to work! Greg was quite amazed and didn't know il garage existed. We had a super evening!
We arrived at 5:15
Greg was amazed at the seating arrangements
We ordered wine and then headed to the gardens
Simple settings... Very appropriate
The garden was beautiful
Everything was nicely labeled
The leeks are on their way
Cauliflower was ready to create the fruit
It does not pump water... Nice ambience
Did You Know? - Raised-bed gardening is a form of gardening in which the soil is formed in 3 – 4 foot (1.0–1.2 m) wide beds, which can be of any length or shape. The soil is raised above the surrounding soil (approximately 6 inches to waist-high), is sometimes enclosed by a frame generally made of wood, rock, or concrete blocks, and may be enriched with compost.
The vegetable plants are spaced in geometric patterns, much closer together than conventional row gardening.
The spacing is such that when the vegetables are fully grown, their leaves just barely touch each other, creating a microclimate in which weed growth is suppressed and moisture is conserved.
Raised beds produce a variety of benefits: they extend the planting season, they can reduce weeds if designed and planted properly and reduce the need to use poor native soil. Since the gardener does not walk on the raised beds, the soil is not compacted and the roots have an easier time growing.
The close plant spacing and the use of compost generally result in higher yields with raised beds in comparison to conventional row gardening.
Waist-high raised beds enable the elderly and physically disabled to grow vegetables without having to bend over to tend them.
Red cabbage heads are forming
Three tomatoes only... It is, after all, winter
Another 30 days and they will be on your table
What... Blank space?
Our wine is served
This soil will grow anything!
Just for the ambience or did you see a small tractor?
Blue berries were looking good
The garage doors are opened onto the garden area
Springing forth
Broccoli was just forming
So very green!
Mother Nature is amazing....
Do not spill the wine
Spinach looked so healthy
A martini in the garden... Life is good!
The beets are about three week away
You could smell the onions

A peek through the hedge doorway
The curtains are up and the room is being heated
The lights just came on!
They have everything planted
How did this begonia sneak in?
The lemon tree is just starting to come out of its winter hibernation
Grandma approves
Amazing!
We had to drag him inside
Greg may be talking to the little plants
Getting ideas!
Another few weeks and they will be picking!
