Love Those Cars
Mary has been a member for quite a while following in the footsteps of David and Dianne. This year I got to go along with Colleen and it was a fun affair. We saw the old cars, met new friends, and went to the museum.
Gotta love those Packards!
They will live on forever.
Colleen was expecting to see computers (Hewlett-Packard)
We teased her but she now understands
We dined at Gulliver's in Costa Mesa!
Santa arrived after parking his Packard outside.
I had the best seat in the house, next to Mary!
Always a smile!
Get those cameras out!
...and I got mine out also!
Dianne looked surprised!
"Good is relative, remember?"
Looks like Santa is happy also!
"Want a cookie little girl??"
I had to join them and remind him, "No lumps of coal this year!"
Colleen and Santa made music together!
David and Dianne join Santa
And David played us a little tune!
Mary made it four!
Why not the whole group!
Great fun with family and friends
He looked frightened to death!
Cal was ready to celebrate!
From the newspaper: The wax figures became the city's property after the city's former Redevelopment Agency bought the 60,000-square-foot building for $8.6million in 2007.
Poor attendance had forced Movieland owner Rodney Fong to shut the doors for good in 2005 after a 43-year run.
In 2006, close to 50 wax figures were shipped to a sister museum in San Francisco, 80 went to a South Korea museum and others were auctioned off, the Register reported.
The seven remaining figures, which include Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra and Richard Burton as Mark Antony were supposed to be sold to a collector at that time, but the sale never materialized, said Aaron France, assistant to the city manager.
