The Alley Cats Christmas Show (12/6/2008)
We went to the Curtis Theater in the Brea Civic and Cultural Center. In the late 1970’s, the Civic and Cultural Center, as we know it today, was not in existence. Brea was still using the old City Hall on Brea Blvd. for its daily operations. Under the guidance of Mayor Wayne Wedin, the city undertook the colossal project of building the new civic center. Mayor Wedin, being a forward thinking politician, as well as being committed to enhancing Brea with the inclusion of the arts, sought community input on what services should be included in the new civic center.
Paul, Sue, Vicky, and Del went to the Curtis to be entertained by the Alley Cats and we sure were. Their Christmas show was funny with Mondo and Royce cracking up the entire audience. Their a capella style bring back memories of when music was music and talent was more than screaming into a microphone with loud guitars and drums creating havoc in the background!
Santa was out to meet and greet the audience and Vicky went over to ask for a new Mercedes. He promised so we will have to wait and see what happens.
We have evidence that we were all there
Vicky was so happy about the new car! She does want one JUST like she has
now... Not a new new one... A new old one... Leave it to Vicky
I snuck a picture in so we could be reminded of the show and the little pixies
that assisted the guys!
Mrs. Santa found someone for her lap!
Mr. Santa found his present right on is lap!!!
Darn... She is so cute!
