Welcome To Starlighters Autumn Glory
At the Elks Lodge, the Starlighter's Dance Club welcomed autumn with enough orange decorations to make a pumpkin blush.
President Zaitz opened the evening by announcing he would demonstrate "a few simple steps," then proceeded to glide, shuffle, twirl, and somehow invent a move that looked suspiciously like chasing a runaway leaf. Everyone applauded, partly from admiration and partly to make sure he didn't try it again.
Vicky and Jim created table centerpieces so beautiful that several members asked if they were for sale, while one gentleman tried to water the silk flowers with iced tea. The tables sparkled with leaves, candles, and tiny pumpkins that seemed to be judging everyone's rhythm.

Then came the food, which was amazing. Plates were filled, refilled, and defended like valuable property. The dessert table caused a traffic jam, and someone declared the apple pie "worth dancing for," which became the night's unofficial motto.
By the end, the dance floor was packed. Members laughed, spun, bumped elbows, and celebrated fall in grand style. The Starlighters proved once again that when good friends, good food, and good music meet, even the pumpkins want to dance.
