From Fun To Pain In One Day!
We had just arrived from the Caribbean after a week with Collen and family. On Monday the 7th I began feeling sick but thought I could tough it out By Tuesday morning Mary insisted I go to the ER and we did.
After some testing they discovered I had a twisted bowel or obstruction. Since I was on blood thinners, they took a day to through chemicals in me that would thicken up my blood.
Tuesday at noon I went into the OR and had a foot of dead bowel removed.
A bowel obstruction is a partial or complete blockage in the small or large intestine, preventing the normal movement of food, fluids, and gas.
Symptoms include sharp, crampy abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and constipation or an inability to pass gas. It is a medical emergency caused by issues like scar tissue from surgery, hernias, tumors, or conditions like diverticulitis, and it requires immediate medical attention to prevent severe complications like infection or perforationation .
I was in the hospital for two solid weeks
After being released, I spent a month recovering and it would have been longer except for my magnificent wife who cared for me every minute along the way!
