There Was Always An Artistic Spark!
When we got together mid-2020 I noticed several paintings around Mary's home and after an inspection I saw "Mary 2018". I asked her about the pictures and she admitted she did like to paint but being a doctor took all her time. so art took a distant backseat! Those pictures were done as a result of a "Wine And Paint" activity.
Ratchet forward four years and we were at a dance at the Tustin Senior Citizens Center (she qualifies for us) and I noticed an advertisement for art classes. Mary applied and the rest is going to be history.
After getting hitched in 2021, I often "bugged" her about getting back to her "roots". We had an upstairs we like to call "The Ballroom" but after careful consideration, I took all her art supplies upstairs and presented her with "The Loft; The Lady Cave"; a place to get away and enjoy her artistic skills.
The Loft was born! Mary has a "Lady Cave!"
Mary sat down in the loft and went to work at her newly created work station! and added blue pumpkins! So, with her azure, cobalt, cerulean, navy, ultramarine, indigo, and aquamarine colors at hand, the blue pumpkins were added. Mary plans to give the painting to Colleen when she comes out for my surprise birthday party!
No one sits in the bosses seat except The Boss!
Where could she work and NOT have to cleanup every time she leaves and where can she get lighting all day long? The Ballroom!!
Busy as a bee in her new Lady Cave!
Her first masterpiece in watercolor was super:
Not too bad for a first try!!
October 10th!
She was smitten! Now we needed supplies! So off to Huntington Beach we headed at the "Art Supply House' as they have everything!
She was now prepared for masterpiece #2
Dang if she didn't do it again! Another beauty!
Wintertime in the dessert. October 22nd effort was amazing (painting #2)
Now Mary is a "regular" in the art class and is meeting new folks, most of which have known each other for years and years.
Ladies, get ready to meet your match!!
It was October and spooky things happen! Mary painted pumpkins but alas, there were no "blue pumpkins"! According to Colleen, blue pumpkins are a must have!
Before Colleen's review... October 22nd, Halloween is coming!
Colleen mentioned that Mary did not have any "Blue Pumpkins" so out came the brushes, a little respiration, and volia, blue pumpkins.
Complete with blue pun-kins per Colleen's request!
An artist cannot be complete without a portable universal multi functional "Artists Bag"
This week she did a bridge! November 11th, it was a cold day by the water!
Her assignment was a winter scene with a red bird! 11/29/2024 and the bird was freezing his pa-tuttie off!
I gave her a challenge, I brought her a picture from a magazine! 11/20/2024 Paul found something for her to paint from a book.
Christmas time is here! 11/29/2024 Christmas is upon us!
