Brian And Jan Pass The Citizenship Requirements

A Great Day To Celebrate 3/5/2012

Did You Know? - Naturalization (or naturalisation) is the acquisition of citizenship and nationality by somebody who was not a citizen of that country at the time of birth.

We were pleasantly surprised when Brian and Jan told us of their plans to becomes US citizens and friends (Miss Vicky) even put together a study package made up of her teaching materials! We found out last weekend that Brian and Jan had a date and spent several days praying, worrying, thinking!

The plan was to meet and have dinner after the test and then go to dinner... No matter the results! The results were as expected, they passed the test with flying colors and are awaiting a swearing in date.

The "gang" called in and talked to Brian and Jan including Marcia and Leon Brander, Ed and Kathy Roberts, Bob and Donna Zaitz, Hans Thedens, and Vicky and Del Kuhn! We all were so very happy for Brian and Jan.

Did You Know? - The United States Oath of Allegiance (officially referred to as the "Oath of Allegiance," 8 C.F.R. Part 337 (2008)) is an oath that must be taken by all immigrants who wish to become United States citizens. The first officially recorded Oaths of Allegiance were made on May 30, 1778 at Valley Forge, during the Revolutionary War.

When Brian and Jan entered the Elks Lodge we were worried
until they flashed the "THUMBS UP" signal
