We joined the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles and Maxwell DeMille to celebrate the ADSLA's 25th Anniversary in a glorious night of dancing to Dean Mora and Mora's Modern Rythmists at the historic Art Deco Avalon Casino Ballroom on beautiful Catalina Island--the same ballroom that played host to Benny Goodman, Glen Miller and all the greats of the Big Band era. Dance The Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Balboa, The Charleston, Tango, Foxtrot, the Waltz and much, much, amazingly much more!
The Avalon Ball is early this year scheduled for May 17th. The ball is held in the Avalon Casino overlooking Avalon Harbor.
From 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM you will go back 50 years dancing to a big-band on a wooden floor floating on three inches of cork with 500 folks who enjoy big-band ballroom dancing!
Our little group of friends and fellow dance class folks all met over the Catalina for this wonderful occasion. Please see the dinner and dance page in addition to the departure page !
This year we had Nancy and Vince go with us along with Vicky and Del... MAde for a fantastic weekend!
