Golf At Kona

Golf is a lot of walking, broken up by disappointment and bad arithmetic.

Kona Country Club Mountain Course

The 18-hole "Mountain" course at the Kona Country Club facility in Kailua Kona, Hawaii features 6,510 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 133. Designed by Robin Nelson, ASGCA/Rodney Wright, ASGCA, the Mountain golf course opened in 1969.

The Mountain Course designed by William Bell, Nelson and Robin Wright offers breathtaking Kona coastline views, trails of ancient lava flows and is enriched with Hawaiian culture and wild life.  We saw plenty of goats in the lava and they had a good laugh at Paul's attempt to swing!

With breathtaking panoramic views of the Kona coastline, the Mountain Course has its way of attracting beginners and advanced golfers alike.

It features a cool mountain setting, manicured Bermuda greens, elevated tees, numerous bunkers and three lakes.  Challenge yourself on front nine as you experience elevation changes.

After reaching the crescendo, all you see is a clear blue ocean, swaying palm trees and a panoramic view from Keauhou to Kona.
