Welcome to Laguna Canyon Winery. Orange County’s first premium boutique urban winery.
A couple of months ago we were all at the winery, where we have been members for years, doing some tasting before the Pageant of the Masters and we saw the advertisement for a "Summer BBQ & Wine Tasting"... Did it get our attention? Yes!
The time has come and we are ready for the event!
The essential equipment is ready to go!
..and so is the really really essential equipment!

Did You Know? - The traditional chef's uniform (or chef's whites) includes a toque blanche (traditional hat), white double-breasted jacket, and houndstooth-patterned, black and white pants. It is a common uniform in the Western world.
The double breasted jacket can be reversed to hide stains. The thick cotton cloth protects from the heat of stove and oven and protects from splattering of boiling liquids.
Knotted cloth buttons were used to survive frequent washing and contact with hot items.
White is intended to signify cleanliness and is generally worn by highly visible head chefs. Aprons shield the wearer's garments from food splatters and stains.
The toque is a chef's hat that dates back to the 16th century. Different heights may indicate rank within a kitchen. The 100 folds of the toque are said to represent the many different ways a chef knows to cook an egg.

Did You Know? - Cobbler refers to a variety of dishes, particularly in the United Kingdom and United States, consisting of a fruit or savory filling poured into a large baking dish and covered with a batter, biscuit, or dumpling (in England) before being baked. Some cobbler recipes, especially in the American south, resemble a thick-crusted, deep-dish pie with both a top and bottom crust.
Cobblers originated in the British American colonies. English settlers were unable to make traditional suet puddings due to lack of suitable ingredients and cooking equipment, so instead covered a stewed filling with a layer of uncooked plain biscuits or dumplings, fitted together. The origin of the name cobbler, recorded from 1859, is uncertain: it may be related to the archaic word cobeler, meaning "wooden bowl"

Did You Know? - It was not until the 18th century that glass-blowers were able to make bottles with narrow necks that made airtight storage possible. The best seal for the bottle was a cork, and when the English began to bottle wine in the 1700s they also invented a corkscrew to open the bottle.
