Off To Lanai For A Vacation From Retirement!
Hawaii is only five hours away!
This was a celebration of our anniversary, ten years cancer free, five years after back surgery, and one year of RETIREMENT!
We needed to have a little time off from our busy retirement schedule to relax, get refreshed, and prepare for a busy summer season!
Where to go was easy given the constraints of our little guys... the chihuahua's.
Our neighbors (Vicky & Del) and our daughter-in-law, Lisa, cared for the little guys while we were gone making us able to go knowing they would be taken good care of!
Did You Know? - The Boeing 767 is a mid-size wide-body twin-engine airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Boeing 767 versions have a range of 5,200 to 6,590 nautical miles (9,400 to 12,200 km), and can carry between 181 and 375 passengers, depending on seating arrangement. The first wide-body twinjet produced by Boeing, the 767 was conceived and designed in tandem with the narrow-body Boeing 757 twinjet. The airliners share design features and flight decks, enabling pilots to obtain a common type rating to operate the two aircraft. The 767 was also the first Boeing wide-body airliner with a two-person flight deck, eliminating the need for a flight engineer.
Why Lanai? Because It Is Quiet And No People!
The Island of Lanai is one of Hawaii’s most unique islands. With over 141 square miles to explore, ranging from the tropical mountain range of the Hale, to the moon-like surface of the Garden of the gods. Lanai also offers visitors two of the romantic beaches in Hawaii. Hulopo`e State Park is a protected bay beneath the backdrop of the Manele Bay Hotel, a world class resort. Dolphins frequently swim in the Marine Reserve Bay. The other beach is called Palihua and has been rated one the best walking beaches in the world.
