The Dancing Continues After The Entertainment (Page Two)
We are treated to the real "Autumn Leaves" by Solange
Did You Know? - "Autumn Leaves" is a much-recorded popular song. Originally it was a 1945 French song "Les feuilles mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves") with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. Yves Montand (with Irène Joachim) introduced "Les feuilles mortes" in 1946 in the film Les Portes de la Nuit.
The American songwriter Johnny Mercer wrote English lyrics in 1947 and Jo Stafford was among the first to perform this version. "Autumn Leaves" became a pop standard and a jazz standard in both languages, both as an instrumental and with a singer.
French lyrics by Jacques Prévert,
English lyrics by Johnny Mercer
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Autumn leaves on the wall...
Listening intently
Time to move and work off those pesty calories
The floor is filled with wondeful dancers
Quotation To Remember: It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life. ~P.D. James
Mixer Time
Girls on the inside, boys on the outside... Around and aounrd we go...
Gliding across the floor with grace and ease
Line of dance strictly prserved
Dancing the night away
Twirling around the room
Whoosh.... We go right... We go left.... We go...
What does Marion know that she is not telling?
Movin' movin' movin'
Only happy faces allowed on the dance floor
Looks like Bruce is on a mission...
Fifi is up and dancing
OK guys... Do it again...
Tina says "Hey... I'll take that one over there!"
Quotation To Remember: Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. ~Stanley Horowitz
The mixer is quite popular
