Tummy Needs "Ten Pound Buns" (Page Four)
We discovered "Ten Pound Buns" many years ago and it is a staple of our meals at the fair because relatively speaking, it is healthy! We get a mix of Jalapeño and European... Heat and flavor!
Great groceries
Decisions decisions!
Stop in the wine pavillion is not required!
...and when in the wine pavillion, drink wine!
Wine, 10 pounds buns and you! Love it!
...yes, they were spicy!
Brings a smile to Sue's face
Sue got Paul on the skyway AGAIN!
She uses her feminine wiles to convince him it will be OK!
The signs take Paul's mind off the immediate danger of the ride!
We got "smoked" as we pass over the food courts
Three miles in the sky held up only by a tiny sliver of wire rope!
They look like aunts down there... And some of them are!
Ah ha... Civilization and the half-way marker
The midway is doing a rousing business!
Oh no! Sue is going to TRY to get Paul on the new wheel!
Not this time... We are doing a round trip!
Yummy!
Strange animals at the fair!
No kidding!
Where are the giant turkeys?
Bacon wrapped everything!
Guess how many calories and stopped up arteries these will cause!
...and they were selling like hotcakes!
"Please dear... Don't yell for help when we get to the top!"
She ignores his pleas for help!
"Even my little emoji's are terrified!"
Good view of our starting point this morning!
Our car looks like a toy from WAY UP HERE!
Each gondola has it's own air conditioner!
(Paul believes it is oxygen because of the altitude)
Even Sue notices the extreme height of this device
Did You Know? - The La Grande Wheel, the world's largest transportable Ferris wheel, made its North American debut at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and then shipped to OC in 22 containers. Assembly required the use of a 80-ton crane and took 10 days to complete. Standing 15 stories -- the wheel lights the night with 50,000 bulbs. Quite amazing.
La Grande was the brainchild of Ronald Bussink, 43, a Switzerland resident who worked 20 years ago as a ticket taker in carnivals. Now Bussink is president and chief executive officer of Nauta Bussink Inc.
The La Grande XL Observation Wheel owned by the midway provider, Ray Cammack Shows. It is quite possibly the largest traveling observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere as the R50XL model. This “Mercedes” of Wheels was manufactured in Europe by Ronald Bussink of Professional Rides AG, and will be transported on 22 semi trailers. Mr. Bussink is the premier builder of Observation wheels around the World.
The cabins are climate controlled and can hold 6-8 people. It is erected with an 80-ton crane, and is assembled by a crew of 10. It weighs approximately 616,000 lbs., and has over ½ a million LED lights.
We are on our way home now... Gotta go dancing tonight!
Seems the cow is enjoying a good meal!
A view from our car... Straight up!
