Disneyland, Here We Come!
It's Father's Day Sunday and our family is off to Disneyland. Except for Jeanette, I heard from everyone including two ex-son-in-laws this morning so all is well and as expected. I got calls from Connecticut and New Hampshire which were appreciated. Life is good and we are batting 950!
First things first, breakfast!

Bye Rainforest Cafe... We enjoyed you for the past eighteen years! Here’s what is being demolished:
- AMC 12 Theatre
- Rainforest Cafe
- ESPN Zone
- Earl of Sandwich
- Alamo Rent-a-Car
- Starbucks (only the west side location)
- Two Disney businesses – Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney Travel – will continue to operate in other resort locations.
Essentially, everything on the Downtown Disney property west of the Lego store and Disneyland Drive will be demolished, until the boundary of the Disneyland Hotel is reached.
Employees of the businesses were being notified of the impending closures on Tuesday, officials said.
Although all the businesses are expected to close by June 30, some may close earlier, officials said. No date for the start of demolition has yet been set. Disney has yet to receive expected final approvals from the city of Anaheim for the new hotel, which is slated to include a monorail stop and a new restaurant-lounge that offers viewing of the Disneyland fireworks.
A spokeswoman for the Downtown Disney location of the Rainforest Cafe chain was not immediately able to comment.

Alex decides "Hangman" is his choice of a pastime
Did You Know? - The Hangman game came from a dark past in the 17th and 18th century Europe. Criminals sentenced to death by hanging would sometimes get the opportunity to play a game called, "Rite of Words and Life." The executioner would choose a word and the criminal would have to guess the word letter by letter before the blanks were filled. If one was to guess the correct answer their life would be spared. Not solving the answer would seal the criminals fate.

Did You Know? - Hollywood Land is a themed land at Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The area is inspired by the 1930s Golden Age period of Hollywood and hosts attractions themed to this concept, including a backlot of a typical Hollywood studio. The land opened as Hollywood Pictures Backlot with the park in 2001.
The land's entrance once had towering studio gates that featured intricately carved elephants atop massive columns. The gateway was a tribute to the spectacular epics made throughout Hollywood history, especially pioneering director D. W. Griffith's 1916 silent film Intolerance. After the park's re-design, the archway sign, elephants and columns were removed, whereas the repainted pedestals remained.
