Movies We Watched This Year!

It's Christmas, Carol

The story of driven, heartless, publishing executive Carol Huffman, who on Christmas Eve is visited by the ghost of her former boss, Eve. Eve tells Carol that she has lost sight of the things that are truly important in life and that she is there to show her the errors of her ways. Eve explains that normally there would be three ghosts for the job, but due to budget cutbacks, she is in charge of Carol's journey through her past, present and future.

The Christmas Chronicals

The story of sister and brother, Kate and Teddy Pierce, whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about.

Christmas Inheritance

Before ambitious heiress Ellen Langford can inherit her father's gift business, she must deliver a special Christmas card to her dad's former partner in Snow Falls, the hometown she never knew. When a snowstorm strands her at the town inn, she's forced to work for her keep, and in the process, finds romance and discovers the true gift of Christmas.

Christmas With A View

Secret aspirations between a failed restaurateur and a celebrity chef threaten their blossoming Christmas romance.

We are a HUGE fan of these Christmas movies. They're cheesy yet lovely and always have a happy ending. They're a form of escapism. But this one is so disjointed and awkward. The story line is off and nothing makes much sense and the blatant miscommunication of the two main characters becomes quickly annoying. We were disappointed.

The Holiday Calendar

A struggling but talented photographer inherits an antique holiday advent calendar, the contents of which seem to predict the future. Will this magical calendar lead her to love this holiday season?

Lots of positive representations of diverse races, and Abby's close-knit, loving family offers a lot of great role models for African Americans especially.

Merry Kissmas

Merry Kissmas is a Christmas romance. Kayla (Karissa Lee Staples) should be the happiest woman on earth as she is engaged to world-famous choreographer Carlton Wells (David O’Donnell). Unfortunately, Kayla feels more like Carlton’s personal assistant lately than his fiancée. Her feelings become more complicated when she meets lonely caterer Dustin (Brant Daugherty) in a mistletoe-festooned elevator. The two share a kiss, and due to the elevator’s reputedly magical properties, neither of them can forget it – leaving Kayla confused about her love life.

The plot is pretty predictable, but the movie is charming. Both Kayla and Dustin are likeable characters – Carton is not, but that’s what allows the audience to entertain Kayla’s attraction to Dustin as permissible instead of seeing it as infidelity.

The Christmas Project

Even with Christmas around the corner, for the Buckley boys, payback almost always wins out over brotherly love. That is, until the four brothers join forces against a common adversary—the Hagbarts, the meanest bullies at their middle school. But now Mom has decided that the Buckley family is going to “Elf” the Hagbarts this year for Christmas. Eleven-year-old Matthew can hardly stand it: By day, the Hagbarts torture the Buckley brothers into submission, and by night, the Buckleys secretly deliver Christmas treats and gifts to their sworn enemies. Soon the war of wits escalates into an incredible scheme designed to get the ultimate revenge on the Hagbarts. But now that Matthew has been learning that he’s supposed to do good to those who hate him, what will he do when a little push becomes a great big shove? “The Christmas Project” is a heartwarming comedy the whole family will love

How Sarah Got Her Wings

Good Samaritan Sarah Fitzpatrick has a fatal accident just before Christmas, and finds herself in the lobby before the gates of Heaven. Certain that she will be let in, she is shocked to find that her name is not on the reservation list. However, she is granted the chance to return to Earth as an "angel in training" with the requirement to help a soul in need. Sarah has the 12 days before Christmas to secure her place on the list leaving her in the race for her after-life.

A Dogwalker's Christmas Tale

When spoiled, 21-year old college student Luce Lockhart is forced to take a job over the holidays walking a rich developer's dog, she is thrilled to discover they are going to build a salon and spa over the quaint local dog park nearby. But when Luce meets Dean, an irritating yet handsome dogwalker actively trying to stop them, Luce is forced to question what the park means to her newfound friends, and whether she can put aside her selfish ways to help save the park before Christmas.

High School Reunion

Twenty-eight-year-old Georgia is convinced the man of her dreams is the one "that got away" back in high school. Though she's tried dating other men, they just never seem to compare to her high school flame. When Georgia learns of her high school reunion a week before Christmas, she's ecstatic to finally have her chance to win Craig back. But as she gets to relive high school for a night, she begins to realize it might not be Craig at all who got away, but Ben, an old friend with whom she'd fallen out of touch.

Spirit Of Christmas

Kate, a workaholic lawyer, has three weeks to get a haunted bed and breakfast appraised and sold. The uncooperative manager claims a spirit who lives there will not approve. With Kate's possible promotion resting on accomplishing this task, she checks in and haggles with the aforesaid Christmas spirit, who suspiciously seems awfully solid for a ghost.

Emotionally frigid attorney Kate Jordan reluctantly accepts an end-of-the-year assignment to get a reputedly haunted inn appraised and sold by year's end. By and by she meets Daniel, the resident ghost who, for the past ninety-five years, inexplicably returns to life each December during the twelve days of Christmas. Kate has only one logical recourse for their mutual benefit: break the curse that binds him - but falling for a man almost a century her senior isn't among her plans.

A Season For Miracles
1999

Emily's sister is out of control. A drug abuser and a resulting neglectful mother at times, she almost overdoses and ends up in the slammer. Emily has a good relationship with her sister's two children and is there to take care of them. However, she is between jobs and has no place to stay in Providence. The child welfare case worker wants, therefore, to take the children away from Emily. Alanna and J.T., the kids, are already traumatized by the whole situation to the point where J.T. will not utter a word. Emily makes a decision to escape with the children to another venue. On the way to nowhere, her car breaks down in the small city of Bethlehem. There, she and the children are treated with uncommon kindness, partly because of a case of mistaken identity. However, the city truly is capable of performing miracles. Will Emily and the children finally have a rewarding life all around? This wonderful film is a must for the holiday or any season. The actors are appealing, the script is beautiful, and all of the extras that make for superior film-making are present. A romance is always welcome and this one is, but the movie's attractions go far beyond that. If only Hollywood would make this kind of film at times! However, Hallmark is dedicated to giving us these incredible cinematic gifts and this one is one of the loveliest. Seek this one out without delay. As a companion to Miracle on 34th Street, this "Miracle" movie is topnotch.

A Christmas Tail

Two single parents fall in love while fighting over a puppy to give to their children for Christmas.
