To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow
To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow!
The driveway is magical with 4,546,343 pots of various designs.
Anything and everything under the Sun!
Remember" Gardeners know all the dirt.
There is a tavern in the town!
A tavern with intoxicated gnomes while sober gnomes live it up in a Ferris wheel.
The succulents are enjoying the springtime weather.
Did You Know? - The word "succulent" comes from the Latin word sucus, which means "juice" or "sap". This is because succulents have thick leaves that contain nutrient-rich sap.
Watching over all the little plants.
There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments
Water catchers!
Where are the fish??
Firetail?
Did You Know? - Firetail Chenille Plant will grow to be only 6 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 15 inches. Its foliage tends to remain low and dense right to the ground. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 3 years. This plant does best in full sun to partial shade.
Is this where the name of the song came from?
If your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life!
Do NOT kick the bucket!!
my blue vertical stand of metal cans, displays MY edible mini garden.
Look closely; tomatoes, chives, basil - all edible and many used for cooking.
Jim's old chair became Vicky's new pot! Careful when you sit down!
a succulent chair waiting to fill out while ducks preen, rest & socialize.
A re-purposed piece of luggage.
Water water everywhere!
Next to a low water feature, a delicate pink flower plant, oddly named SHARK BAY.
As red is my favorite color, couldn't resist the high heels.
Water features are everywhere!
The family-flower mural is a favorite.
When my husband, Del Kuhn of over 40 yrs. died in 2021, I grieved deeply. Compelled to create a visual piece of art, I had this commissioned. It was designed to reflect his life & our history. The quail he hunted, his lucky coin, him fishing, the coveted trout, marshmallows toasting over fire, 2 raccoons in tree (called our grandsons 'bandits'), pine cones for crafts later, his favorite wildflowers, deer/elk he hunted, his beloved airplane and secret images in the mountains.
Even the note, he wrote me 50+ yrs. ago copied on the painted tree. The river represents the sum of my grieving tears but I have learned to 'go with the flow.' Life is for the living. The 'stars' light up at night. His memory plaque is displayed. He was deeply loved and is missed. (Google his name)
A work of love!
Throughout, are his collection of watering cans hanging from hooks. At night, the trail of twinkling stars light at the spout & appear as stars sprinkling the plants. Magical looking!
This 2nd mural designed for healing, grateful to have a large group of family & friends who supported me in my deepest grief. Sometimes I need to be reminded of this during my 'sad days.' Each flower represents my supporter's favorite flower, reminding me that I am not alone. The dbl. rainbow, colored sky, clouds, hill trail all have meaning.
I thank GOD for all my blessings.
The lady is at peace with the world!
The face of gratitude and peace pauses below a silver dollar eucalyptus tree.
Good idea!
"OK, who took my honey??"
Flowers everywhere!
Three bears in a tub... Rubba-dub-dub!
More water; the backyard sounds like it is next to a river.
Vicky's choice of colors is exquisite.
Duck!! They are coming in low!
My blue lights shaded corner mimics ocean life.
Shells, sandcastles, and fish abound in the water.
Everyone needs a flamingo!
Sandpaper Plant?
Did You Know? - Sandpaper vine Also known as Petrea volubilis, this vine has stiff leaves that feel like sandpaper. The leaves are rough and dry, and scratch makes a crinkly sound. The plant has pale blue to violet, star-shaped flowers that hang from the vine. It's found in tropical regions from Southern Mexico to Paraguay, and also in Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola. In Indonesia, the young shoots are used to treat snake bites, and the fruit is used to treat the common cold.
Every garden needs a work area to perform magic! This is my 'Play Station' not an electronic game but where I soothe my soul. Much on either side, including a tribute to police officers. For nearly 30 years, Del was a CHP Officer.
A smooth jazz band (dressed in black) jams near a tender wispy orange 'shrimp', plant, sorry no grits.
The shrimps watch all the visitors. It attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and is resistant to deer.
Birds love all the plants!
The 'pit stop' & 'watering hole+ bar' a tribute to the eternal wild Rossmoor parrots.
The grandchildren have been here!
You know what that means!
