Blockparty 2008
The friends and neighbors on Kensington decided to again celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by having he annual block party! Wow, we had a great turn out for our Neighbor Nite on Friday! First, I want to thank Donny & Stacey for letting us use their front yard again and arranging the burrito feast. If someone would like to offer their yard, or patio next year, great, just let me know. It would be fun to do this in different places. We've come a long way since our Neighborhood Block Watcher 'get together' about 14 years ago, at our house. How many of you remember that?
Also new to our group, Nancy and Tim O'Gorman on the corner of Channing and Piedmont (yes, with the pumpkins), glad they joined us. Nice kids too!
That's another great thing about knowing your neighbors, we can keep an eye out for each other's property, kids, loose pets, avocados, pumpkins and enjoy the fruits of their efforts and neighborly sharing!

Shelly & Pat Duffy always have fun and enjoy meeting the neighbors!
Dave is still celebrating his new car!!!
Oh, yes...our 'sentry-watchman' neighbor, the man of all seasons, Dave McTevia...has put his old white caddy out of its misery... and our ears too. No more will we hear the long screeching sound of something that was dying in his car engine as he drove himself out to dinner. So now, we will have to look at our watch to learn the time, we can't go by Dave anymore, going out at 4 PM. His car was like our very town 4 PM train whistle...but not as pleasant. Oddly enough, he never heard the noise as he drove 15 mph down Kensington. So if you see a brand new shiny black Caddy...going 15 mph with an old guy smiling...wave to him, that's Dave. I'm sure glad he's a good sport and let us tease him.
Vicky and Del!
Donny and Stacey loaned their driveway for the party!
Kids all over the place!
Joann Bibee has her dear friend's daughter Monica living with her now.
Anyway, thanks for coming to our Neighbor Night. Those neighbors who were unable to attend, know that we missed you and we'll see you at the next one. Meanwhile drive carefully, school is back in session and little kids are all over the place and watch those 4 way intersections, people zoom right through them...Yikes!
