October Dinner Dance & Goodbye To The Finch's

Going Back To England For A Short While

10/9/2016 And Time To Get Together...And Celebrate Ellen's 60th Birthday!

It's the second Sunday of the month and time to coagulate at Old Ranch for our monthly dinner dance.

We are celebrating Ellen's 60th birthday and Wally and Ghislain's 35 Wedding Anniversary!

Quotation To Remember: "...for those whose favorite season is autumn with its days of cloudless sky, of spacious and clear, far-flung panoramas -- those who view nature with detachment, for whom nature's appeal is primarily pictorial, classicists as opposed to romanticists, perhaps. On such a day, one is usually excited, physically exhilarated, mentally stimulated. Only not much is left for the imagination." - Charlton Ogburn, Jr.

The Year Ellen Was Born: 1956 the increase in living standards and the focus on education helped to fuel the increase in college education with 1 in 3 high school graduates now going off to college. TV shows included "As The World Turns" and "The Price is Right". Mothers could now buy disposable diapers and tefal non stick Frying Pans. Elvis Presley appears on the Ed Sullivan show and enters the music charts for the first time, with "Heartbreak Hotel".

Quotation To Remember: "Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness, Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run; To bend with apples the moss'd cottage--rees, And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core; To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells With a sweet kernel; to set budding more, And still more, later flowers for the bees, Until they think warm days will never cease, For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells." - John Keats
