Sue meets others we have seen over the last month

We got our entry tags and lanyards

Did you knowo? - A lanyard is a rope or cord often worn around the neck or wrist to carry something. Usually it is used where there is a risk of losing the object or to ensure it is visible at all times. Aboard ship, it may refer to a piece of rigging used to secure objects. Alternatively it is a length of cord or wire with a hook at the end used to fire an artillery piece, or to arm the fuse mechanism on an air-dropped bomb by pulling out a cotter pin (thereby starting the arming delay) when it leaves the aircraft.

Lights were flashing everywhere.... Bob is not yellow.... yet!

So the drill is to walk around and have a sample of these items.... Sue did her typical thing...  Jumped up and brought me back one of each! Oy Vey!  What a wonderful evening.  Everything was fantastic.  With each sample, they had selected wine parings so we have a half glass of wine with every food!

Did you know? - Wine and food matching is the process of pairing food dishes with wine to enhance the dining experience. In many cultures, wine has had a long history of being a staple at the dinner table and in some ways both the winemaking and culinary traditions of a region will have evolved together over the years. Rather than following a set of rules, local cuisines were paired simply with local wines. The modern "art" of food pairings is a relatively recent phenomenon, fostering an industry of books and media with guidelines for pairings of particular foods and wine. In the restaurant industry, sommeliers are often present to make food pairing recommendations for the guest. The main concept behind pairings is that certain elements (such as texture and flavor) in both food and wine react differently to each other and finding the right combination of these elements will make the entire dining experience more enjoyable.

Nick made magic occur

Did you know? - The piquillo pepper is a variety of chili traditionally grown in Northern Spain over the town of Lodosa. Its name is derived from the Spanish for "little beak". Typically, the peppers are hand picked during two harvests between September and December. They are roasted over embers, which gives them a distinct sweet, spicy flavor, more akin to bell peppers than chili peppers, despite their small size. They are then peeled and de-seeded by hand, before being packed into jars or tins for sale.

The caviar was not of fish... It was a jelly

Did you know? - Sue is a vegetarian and cannot eat meat, fish, or chicken or she gets sick. When sue brought the peppers with "caviar" on them and went back to get wine, Paul took all the "caviar" off her portion to "save her". Then Paul found out it was jelly and not fish eggs.... Oops!

Some beers are not as good as others

Did you know? - Beer is the world's oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic beverage and the third most popular drink overall after water and tea. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of starches, mainly derived from cereal grains—most commonly malted barley, although wheat, maize (corn), and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavored with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavorings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. Some of humanity's earliest known writings refer to the production and distribution of beer: the Code of Hammurabi included laws regulating beer and beer parlors.

Off To Catal For A Nightcap!

Did you know? - A nightcap is an alcoholic beverage drunk right before going to sleep. The alcohol content is higher than a wine or beer drink, usually a liqueur or spirit. Traditional nightcaps are brandy or a cream-based liqueur such as Irish cream.

Did you know? - The Uva Bar is an extension of Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney. The circular bar is a nod to both Paris metro-station architecture and the streamlined aesthetic of the 1920's Jazz Age. "Uva" means grape; the Uva Bar serves more than 40 wines.
