We went to South Coast Repertory to see “Trip To Bountiful”.\u00a0 An excellent play that really hit home for Paul with thoughts about Georgia and Kat’s desire to “go home”. \u00a0 Summary: This gem of a play is about Carrie Watts, an aging widow who wants to go home.\u00a0 Trapped in a tiny apartment in Houston, she yearns for Bountiful, the Gulf Coast town where she grew up and spent the best years of her life.<\/p>\n

And\u2014latest pension check in hand\u2014she\u2019s determined to get there, come hell or high water.\u00a0 The journey is filled with frequent humor and a tenderness that\u2019s both heartbreaking and life affirming.\u00a0 Please join us for the day!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

We went VFR to Old Ranch to join the dinner dance.\u00a0 We danced from 5pm until about 9pm with friends.<\/p>\n

When we got home, we watched “She Wore A Yellow Ribbon<\/a>” with John Wayne circa 1949. Summary: After Custer and the 7th Cavalry are wiped out by Indians, everyone expects the worse. Capt. Nathan Brittles is ordered out on patrol but he’s also required to take along Abby Allshard, wife of the Fort’s commanding officer and her niece, the pretty Olivia Dandridge who are being evacuated for their own safety. Brittle is only a few days away from retirement and Olivia has caught the eye of two of the young officers in the Company, Lt. Flint Cohill and Lt. 2nd Lt. Ross Pennell. She’s taken to wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair, a sign that she has a beau in the Cavalry, but refuses to say who she is wearing it for.<\/p>\n
