class=\"wp-caption-text\">Just us!\u00a0 Another day in paradise!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We have no idea what happened, but we didn&#8217;t get up until almost 8:15 am.\u00a0 Apparently, &#8220;lounging around reading and watching TV&#8221; is an extreme sport\u2014and we absolutely crushed it.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed our morning coffee with Colleen, who demonstrated the new bedding organization system she created for us.\u00a0 It&#8217;s an incredible idea, thanks to Amazon!\u00a0 Now, we don&#8217;t have to pull out the bedding to see where everything belongs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_93863\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The things you learn from your kids are amazing!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This morning, Mary and I have dentist appointments at 11:30 am, so Colleen is going to the Elks Lodge to start lunch with the gang.\u00a0 We will &#8220;ketchup&#8221; as soon as we can.\u00a0 Our friends are eager to visit with Colleen, as she has made a hit with them!<\/p>\n<p>Colleen had another hilarious new idea for the backyard, which she shared with us.\u00a0 We briefly considered it\u2014roughly 30 milliseconds\u2014but quickly decided it was a total non-starter!<\/p>\n<div hit the road for the dentist at 10:45, thinking we might be able to get in a little early.\u00a0 Nope!\u00a0 They were right on schedule.\u00a0 To save time, I asked the hygienist to check and clean Mary received an unexpected text message.\u00a0 It was from our neighbor Jeff&#8217;s daughter.\u00a0 Jeff&#8217;s lung condition had suddenly worsened, and he passed away last night.\u00a0 His sudden departure hit both of us hard as he was such a nice man, a wonderful neighbor, and a good friend.\u00a0 Jeff and I had so much in common that it was uncanny.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/friends\/friends2024\/2024-09-14-jeffs-party\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We remembered the party that we helped host for him with his family and George and Bill were still there like absolute legends, hanging around to greet us.\u00a0 Sydney, too, was probably placing bets on whether we&#8217;d show up at all.\u00a0 Colleen had already arrived the Elks Lodge to meet up with Sydney, Dianne, and the Capps\u2014fully recharged and ready to pretend we stay up late and party during the week.<\/p>\n<p>The sunset put on quite a show this &#8220;getting late for us old folks,&#8221; I mean it was pushing 8:30 pm\u2014practically midnight in our time zone.\u00a0 So we gathered up our things and made for the exit.\u00a0 Meanwhile, Sneaky Colleen had already pulled a full valet move: she&#8217;d slipped out, brought the car around to the front door, and had it waiting\u2014warm, ready, and making us look way more sto-piss-ta-kated than we actually are.<\/p>\n<p>Note: We invited Robin to join us, but she wasn&#8217;t feeling well, so she clocked out from work early and left us to wing it without our &#8220;Robin&#8221; in the
