In the morning, we went out and trimmed about 1\/10th of the summer garden, leaving the remains on the walkway for Carlos to remove tomorrow.\u00a0 \u00a0 After the heart ablation operation, I was amazed at how much energy I had.\u00a0 We worked for two hours, and I was not out of breath the entire time!<\/p>\n

At 10:00 am, we headed to the house to get ready for our weekly luncheon at the ledge with the gang.\u00a0 Today, we had the gang, including Iris & Will, Bill Capps, and his brother-in-law, Danny.\u00a0 We also had the Ashs, Sue, George, and Bob Zaitz!\u00a0 It was a full house!<\/p>\n

Girls’ Night Out at the Elks<\/p><\/div>\n

After the luncheon, we went home to prepare for another meal.\u00a0 So much for my desire to go below 190 pounds!<\/p>\n

When we visited the Farmhouse and Roger’s Gardens last week, we found out about a joint Farmhouse\/Verde event, and of course, we instantly got tickets for four.\u00a0 \u00a0Verde is in Costa Mesa.<\/p>\n

We knew we were in for a delightful meal when the first of the five courses came out!\u00a0 Bruschetta without the bread AND the tomatoes were fresh!<\/p>\n

Dinner at Verde\/Farmhouse in Costa Mesa<\/p><\/div>\n

Anthony popped by for a quick visit.\u00a0 Anthony had two “Becky’s Good Hair Day” drinks in his hand.\u00a0 The drink was named after Becky, Mary’s daughter.<\/p>\n

Anthony was happy to see us.<\/p><\/div>\n

Goodness, what an adventure.\u00a0 The corn was cut into quarters lengthwise and grilled to perfection!\u00a0 The cabbage was so sweet we could have stopped right there and declared success!<\/p>\n

The food was fantastic!<\/p><\/div>\n

Someone really liked the corn!<\/p>\n

Bill liked the corn.<\/p><\/div>\n

We could not wait for the next fish to be served, and each course was another adventure in dining.<\/p>\n

I thought to myself, “I’m on a 30-day diet.\u00a0 So far, I’ve lost 15 days.”<\/p>\n

We had a great time.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sandee and Bill had a good time.\u00a0 One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.<\/p>\n

All had a wonderful evening!<\/p><\/div>\n

I suddenly remembered Rodney Dangerfield’s thoughts about his wife’s cooking!\u00a0 \u00a0I am so happy that Mary is a gourmet chef!<\/p>\n
