We had our coffee and worked in the office, but Mary jumped up at 10:00 am and ran out the door!\u00a0 I thought she had been bitten by something.\u00a0 Well, it turns out she was.\u00a0 She got bit by the Neighborhood Garage Sale, or NGS for short!<\/p>\n

She returned with a green glass bowl that she bought for a total of $5!<\/p>\n

Then she asked the fatal question, “Paul, would you PLEASE go with me?”.\u00a0 \u00a0 I decided I would go, and maybe I would find some treasures.\u00a0 I think she wanted me to carry her treasures back!<\/p>\n

By the time we returned, it was time to get ready for company as we are having a Perogie Night and Swim Party with the Dudas and Kyle\/Christina.<\/p>\n

Robin, Bob, and Nick came a little early to help set up and get things ready.\u00a0 They are such good “kids,” making party time very easy on us old folks!<\/p>\n

Nibblers encircled the island!<\/p><\/div>\n

The perogies and sausages were ready, and everybody came running.\u00a0 \u00a0 We filled out plates in the kitchen and then strolled to the formal dining room, which we seldom use.\u00a0 Tonight we dine with Mae West and WC Fields!<\/p>\n

Time to fill the plates and head for the dining room!<\/p><\/div>\n

We played a little Percy Faith on Alexa while dining and swapping stories.\u00a0 The perogies were done to perfection thanks to the new head chef, Sir Bob Duda, Master Chef and bottle washer.<\/p>\n

Dinner was fantastic!\u00a0 Everybody went for seconds!<\/p><\/div>\n

Using the formal dining room was fun!<\/p>\n

We introduced tomato pie to Christina and Kyle, and they enjoyed it.\u00a0 She shared our recipe.<\/p>\n

Dinner was done, time for dessert!<\/p><\/div>\n

I had a flash of brilliance.\u00a0 After checking the availability of the ingredients, I offered up an after-dinner drink called “Orange You Glad This Week Was Over!”.\u00a0 Mary first had it at Chewey’s in Oasadena.\u00a0 Some people call it an Orange Creamsicle.<\/p>\n

If we ate dessert first, we probably would not have eaten dinner, hic!<\/p><\/div>\n

The ingredients are orange-flavored vodka, whipped cream, a slice of orange, and vanilla ice cream.<\/p>\n

Easy ingredients!<\/p><\/div>\n

Boozy Orange Creamsicle Float – This recipe combines the classic flavors of an orange creamsicle with the addition of orange-flavored vodka to create a delightful and nostalgic adult beverage.<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/p>\n

2 oz orange vodka (or vanilla vodka, if preferred); consider adding an orange liqueur, such as Cointreau or Triple Sec, for a stronger orange flavor.<\/p>\n

3 oz orange juice<\/p>\n

1 oz heavy cream (or half-and-half for a slightly lighter version)<\/p>\n

1 large scoop vanilla ice cream<\/p>\n

Whipped cream, for topping<\/p>\n

Orange slice or mini orange popsicle, for garnish (optional)<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/p>\n

Chill your glass: Place a tall glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to frost it and keep your drink colder longer.<\/p>\n

Combine liquids: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the orange vodka, orange juice, and heavy cream.<\/p>\n

Shake well: Shake the ingredients vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well combined and chilled.<\/p>\n

Pour and float: Fill the chilled glass halfway with ice cubes and strain the cocktail mixture over them.<\/p>\n

Add the ice cream: Gently drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream into the drink, allowing it to melt and slowly mingle with the liquid.<\/p>\n

Top it off: Add a generous swirl of whipped cream on top of the float.<\/p>\n

The pool was a delicious 94 degrees, making entry a joy!\u00a0 We lit the fire pit to make it glow red as we exited the water.\u00a0 \u00a0I was going to take pictures, but alas, we were having so much fun floating around and swapping stories that I forgot.<\/p>\n

Kyle had to depart around 9:15 pm to ensure Christina’s puppy was visited; they wanted to avoid any accidents.\u00a0 Robin, Bob, Mary, and I stayed in the water for another thirty minutes!<\/p>\n

After an hour or so of hot water, we were ready to return to land and enjoy some marshmallows by the fire.\u00a0 The evening was beautiful.<\/p>\n

The fire was hot, and the evening was relatively warm.<\/p><\/div>\n

We were exhausted after a day of treasure hunting and then hosting family and guests.\u00a0 We decided to get some rest, a recurring<\/span> condition<\/span> of<\/span> suspended<\/span> consciousness<\/span> by<\/span> which<\/span> the<\/span> body<\/span> rests, sometimes referred to as “shuteye,” and returned to the arms<\/span> of<\/span> Morpheus.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
