There were no big plans today except for Girls Night Out.\u00a0 We did take our morning walk, and I made it 0.7 miles, only sitting down once, a new record.\u00a0 We snapped a couple of shots of our front yard.<\/p>\n

We are decorated for the next holiday as soon as I change out the flag.<\/p><\/div>\n

The front yard flowers are doing quite well and are making the front of the house look great!\u00a0 The gladiolus has roots in the ground and in ancient history.\u00a0 Named for their shape and appearance, the term gladiolus stems from the diminutive form of gladius<\/em>, which means \u201csword\u201d in Latin.\u00a0 Translated literally, a gladiolus is \u201ca little sword.\u201d Gladioli are also called xiphium, which comes from the Greek word xiphios, which means sword.\u00a0 In addition to the name gladiolus, the flowers have been referred to as sword or corn lilies.<\/p>\n

Our gladiolas get new homes every time we depart; Mary likes to give flowers to our friends.<\/p><\/div>\n

The second set of Hollyhocks had emerged to the left of the front gate.\u00a0 They are seven feet tall already and show no signs of slowing down.<\/p>\n

The blossoms will be stuffed this week.<\/p><\/div>\n
