Dang, I gave up drinking!<\/p><\/div>\n

We were so lazy today that we didn\u2019t roll out of bed until a respectable 8:00 am\u2014what can I say, we\u2019re not early risers, we\u2019re \u201cefficient snoozers!\u201d The sky was clearer than my morning brain, with absolutely no clouds\u2014probably because they knew we were too lazy to chase them away! After a riveting two hours of high-stakes office work (a.k.a. intense email refreshing), we decided that walking through the garden sounded like a thrilling adventure. Yes, nothing screams \u201cwild and adventurous\u201d like slowly ambling through flowers while debating whether to get coffee or just nap again!<\/p>\n

I had to remind Mary that with Easter hopping just around the corner, she needed to be extra careful! You never know when a chocolate bunny might launch a surprise attack! Those sugary creatures can be sneaky\u2014one minute you\u2019re admiring their cute little ears, and the next, you\u2019re dodging a flurry of caramel eggs! Beware the bunny brigade!<\/p>\n

Our rotary vertical gardens are doing quite well and providing beautiful flowers and associated fragrances to waft through the house all day long.<\/p>\n

Spring has sprung!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary and I spent a good hour trimming the flower beds and getting them into shape for tomorrow’s festivities.<\/p>\n

We have white roses everywhere.<\/p><\/div>\n

The sweet peas are finally doing their thing, going wild. Sweet peas are climbing vines that can grow up to 6 feet tall.\u00a0 They have fragrant flowers, and their scent is often described as a mix of orange blossom, hyacinth, and rose.<\/p>\n

Mary’s sweet peas are doing great!<\/p><\/div>\n

The rose garden is also doing well now that we worked on it a few weeks ago.\u00a0 Mary weeded it and I\u00a0 redid the drip lines.\u00a0 We trimmed everything back to the base, and now they are exploding.<\/p>\n

The butter roses are a real standout.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Julia Roberts\/Butter Rose comes on strong every year, and the yellow is so fresh-looking; I swear I’ll add it to the bagel plate tomorrow!<\/p>\n

You could almost spread it on toast!<\/p><\/div>\n

We never left the house today.\u00a0 Mary worked on getting ready for Easter and I worked on keeping the damned wabbits out of the lettuce.\u00a0 I finally decided to stretch a 2’x3′ piece of steel cloth over the garden and hold the ends down using 3\/4″ PVC which I attached using stainless steel screws.<\/p>\n

I made ten trips to the garage and back while inventing the wabbit-guard!<\/p><\/div>\n

We watched two John Wayne movies (for the fourth time) and had a small dinner this evening.\u00a0 After dinner, we did two episodes of Sea Watch, an Australian Coast Guard series.\u00a0 We crashed at 10:30 pm!<\/p>\n
