Today started slow with a quick walk in the garden to see how the new plants did last night!\u00a0 No rabbit gifts and all the laves were unscathed from pests!\u00a0 The transplanted onions were perked up and ready for business!<\/p>\n

Around 11:00 am, Mary fixed a light breakfast, and then we got ready to go our different ways.\u00a0 Mary attended her painting class, and I went to the heart doctor.<\/p>\n

We first strolled in the garden, where I was convinced the flowers were gossiping about us. I swear I heard a daisy whisper, \u201cCan you believe they\u2019re wearing those bathrobes?\u201d Meanwhile, the tomatoes looked too young for a game of hide and seek\u2014too bad they were all so well hidden! It was like walking through a botanical reality show, complete with drama and a side of bees auditioning for the next big buzz!<\/p>\n

The apple tree is starting to blossom, indicating that we can expect to have homemade applesauce in approximately three months. This marks an essential phase in the fruit’s growth cycle, promising a rewarding harvest.<\/p>\n

Our rotary garden is doing well; it’s just bursting with flowers. Soon, we will remove the flowers and substitute herbs instead.<\/p>\n

Around the side of the house, we have a loquat tree that is always going a little crazy.<\/p>\n

Loquat fruits (Eriobotrya japonica), which grow on evergreen shrub-like trees, are related to the apple, pear, and quince. They are indigenous to China, known as pipa, and hugely popular in Japan, where they are known as biwa. In the U.S., you might see them called \u201cJapanese plums\u201d or \u201cJapanese pears.\u201d They look like apricots in color, size, and downy skin. Like other harder-to-find fruits, their taste is often described as a combination of other more familiar tastes; in this case, maybe apricot, cherry, or pear.<\/p>\n

Loquat fruits are oval-shaped, bright orange, and contain large brown seeds. They are also known as Japanese plums.\u00a0 Loquat fruits are eaten fresh and used in jams, pies, and juices to make wine. Over 900 loquat varieties have flesh ranging from white to yellow to orange.<\/p>\n

Mary did a great watercolor of a boat by the seashore.\u00a0 She has a real knack for watercolors.\u00a0 When I decide what color to paint the house, I will get ten gallons of paint and a six-inch brush and turn her loose on the house.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he made the journey to the heart doctor, Dr. Tyson Cobb (Ty Cobb), who is quite impressive.\u00a0 He adjusted my meds and sent me home, saying, “All looks good; see you in 90 days!”.\u00a0 I did upset a little bit during the exam!<\/p>\n

I got home first, and I cleaned up the garage and stuffed the Silver Fox full of goodies to go to the Salvation Army (Mary has been cleaning out her closets and drawers).<\/p>\n

We watched the address to the joint session of Congress when President Trump laid out his plans, and we were appalled at the Democratic response.\u00a0 While I understand they cannot applaud everything, I was amazed they wanted men to be in girls’ sports, they wanted 100,000 illegals to come across the border every month, and a load of other common sense things like cutting waste.<\/p>\n

I listened to 20 minutes of the Democratic response and had to shut her off; she was making no sense!<\/p>\n
