I swear I heard a daisy whisper, \u201cCan you believe they\u2019re wearing those bathrobes?\u201d Meanwhile, the tomatoes looked too young for a game of hide and seek\u2014too bad they were all so well hidden! It was like walking through a botanical reality show, complete with drama and a side of bees auditioning for the next big buzz!<\/p>\n<p>The apple tree is starting to blossom, indicating that we can expect to have homemade applesauce in approximately three months. They are indigenous to China, known as pipa, and hugely popular in Japan, where they are known as biwa. In the U.S., you might see them called \u201cJapanese plums\u201d or \u201cJapanese pears.\u201d They look like apricots in color, size, and downy skin. Like other harder-to-find fruits, their taste is often described as a combination of other more familiar tastes; in this case, maybe apricot, cherry, or pear.<\/p>\n<p>Loquat fruits are oval-shaped, bright orange, and contain large brown seeds. They are also known as Japanese plums.\u00a0 Loquat fruits are eaten fresh and used in jams, pies, and juices to make wine. A native of rural Narrows, Georgia, Cobb played 24 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He spent 22 years with the Detroit Tigers and served as the team&#8217;s player-manager for the last six, and he finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1936, Cobb received the most votes of any player on the inaugural ballot for the National Baseball Hall of Fame, receiving 222 out of a possible 226 votes (98.2%); no other player received a higher percentage of votes until Tom Seaver in 1992.
