We were lazy this morning, and we thought a lot about this poor world of ours since the sicko, brain-damaged, inbred, mentally sick radical Muslims<\/strong> began their bloodthirsty rampage.<\/p>\n

Today, I discovered that gardening is just a fancy way of saying I played in the dirt for two hours and called it productivity. I even managed to fill a 90-gallon trash can with evidence of my hard work. Who knew making a mess could be so satisfying?<\/p>\n

Our idea of placing concrete between the planters works well, especially when we must stop those rebellious plants from growing legs and making a run!\u00a0 We toss the cutting onto the floor, wait a few hours for the moisture to dissipate, and then load the remains into the trash container!<\/p>\n

Cleanup is easy; sweep and collect!<\/p><\/div>\n

The peppers will soon become little rats when Mary stuffs them with cream cheese and wraps them with turkey bacon. Once they are in the oven and then in our mouths, they are beautiful appetizers. The squash will likely find its way into a salad.<\/p>\n

I keep thinking: I fought the lawn, and the lawn won;\u00a0 weed it and reap, and give a weed an inch, and it\u2019ll take a yard.<\/p>\n

I love those squash!<\/p><\/div>\n

We have had a plethora of bells this season, and several plants are still producing.\u00a0 As we say, ding-dong!<\/p>\n

Did You Know? <\/b> All bell peppers are from the same plant, but the color depends on how long they are left to ripen before they are harvested. A green bell pepper is picked before it ripens. If left on the plant to ripen, a green pepper becomes a yellow or orange pepper, and when left longer, it eventually becomes a red pepper.<\/p>\n

I shall offer to assist Mary, who is stuffing these guys!<\/p><\/div>\n

Our cleaning staff came over at noon, and Robin and Bob popped by on their way home from Robin’s epidural procedure. They joined us on the patio and had lunch. We loaned them two of our tables for tomorrow’s beach party.\u00a0 We had a good visit.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, Mary packed a fantastic meal for tomorrow’s picnic at the Muckenthaler Amphitheater in Fullerton.\u00a0 Ten of us will attend this event; having so many outstanding friends is amazing.<\/p>\n
