Ain’t it the truth!!<\/p><\/div>\n

Happy Birthday, Rita (my mother-in-law and best friend).\u00a0 Had you not gone to heaven too early, you would be 97 years old today!\u00a0 I miss you!<\/p>\n

It is now Saturday morning; we checked the calendar, and it is empty until 5:30 pm!\u00a0 That seldom happens.\u00a0 We went to the garden and continued reducing vegetation until about 10:00 am.<\/p>\n

I drove Mary to the hospital where David was staying. Because of my lingering cough, I returned home via the dry cleaners and awaited Mary’s call to come get her.<\/p>\n

She called about 1:00 p.m. and notified me that Dianne would bring her home, so I dashed around, ensuring everything was ready for a guest. That was easy!<\/p>\n

Dianne visited for a while, and we went to the garden to harvest. David is not doing all that well, as the cancer seems to have spread and is causing complications. Dianne departed around 2:30 p.m. to go home and get ready to return to the hospital for David’s dinnertime.<\/p>\n

At 4:30, Robin showed up, and we talked, visited with Colleen, and got ready for the Luau at the Elks!<\/p>\n

There will be twelve of us this evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

We arrived at 5:30 pm, and Vicky & Jim, Betty & Ed were at the table.\u00a0 “Robin rode with us, and poor Bob had to meet her at the Elks because he had band practice in Garden Grove. It’s a modern-day comedy of errors but with more guitars and fewer mistaken identities!”<\/p>\n

We wore the matching outfits we got from Hawaii in January!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob was already inside (he is an Elk) and awaited our arrival.\u00a0 Everybody was dressed in festive attire.<\/p>\n

They are looking good!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary and I sneaked out into the entrance to take some good pictures, thanks to Bob and his photography skills!<\/p>\n

Mary played me a love song on the Ukulele (I think it was named Hound Dog)<\/p><\/div>\n

Back inside, the entertainment was underway.\u00a0 We visited all of Polynesia and saw the islands’ dances.\u00a0 I wanted to join them, but Mary said my grass skirt was too short.<\/p>\n

I had never seen hips move so fast…not even in a dance-off between a cheetah and a hummingbird!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin and Bob looked great with their straw hats and musical instruments this evening.<\/p>\n

Whoa! White pants, Bob??? You are daring!<\/p><\/div>\n

The music started, and Donna and Mary began gyrating fiercely. Bob and I might have to dump some water on them to slow them down!<\/p>\n

Their dancing made the Hoochy-Coochy look pretty tame!<\/p><\/div>\n

Our good friend Ronnie passed by to get his daily insult from yours truly!\u00a0 He was going to be the DJ this evening, but plans changed.\u00a0 Without Ronnie playing, we headed out early!<\/p>\n

Iris and Will took off early, but we got together for a group shot!\u00a0 I would lie down like Bob, but it would have taken three people to get me back standing up!<\/p>\n
