The day began with “Oh No!\u00a0 I left the sprinklers on!!!”\u00a0 Lying in bed, I heard water and looked outside; the table and chairs were getting a bath.\u00a0 It’s 5:00 am, so I figured out everyone would be asleep. Who in their right mind is awake at that ungodly hour? Oh, wait… me!\u00a0 My birthday suit and I scooted through the house with my iPhone in hand to shut off the water.<\/p>\n

In the final analysis, I turned off the sprinklers for August 2nd, not the 3rd, so the system worked flawlessly; we had an operator error!<\/p>\n

We got to work early, first by drying off the dance floor!<\/p>\n

Oops!<\/p><\/div>\n

We followed that by setting up various furniture and awaiting the arrival of the Armstrong Entertainment Group; that’s when everything got busy!<\/p>\n

Chuck was ready to go.\u00a0 The BBQ was smokin’ hot, and potatoes were prepared for the potato bar.\u00a0 Chuck prepared about fifteen pounds of filet mignon as an appetizer for the guests!\u00a0 Delicious!<\/p>\n

T-3 hours!<\/p><\/div>\n

The lady of the hour has arrived, looking like royalty in her full purple regalia! She even has a crown and sash to complete the look. We were warned not to have too much fun, but I don’t think anyone can resist when she’s dressed like that!<\/p>\n

Iren arrives!<\/p><\/div>\n

History was on display with a wide collection of photos that Maria had collected.<\/p>\n

Picture date back 90 years!<\/p><\/div>\n

Meanwhile, upstairs, they’re attempting to train the untrainable for the skit. We can’t wait to see how that turns out!<\/p>\n

It does not look good.<\/p><\/div>\n

We danced when Steve showed up as we were going to be busy all afternoon and evening doing host\/hostess chores.\u00a0 There is nothing like a hot cha cha on a 90 degree afternoon!<\/p>\n

We love to waltz.<\/p><\/div>\n

Dinner was served, and the food disappeared as if by magic\u2014300 pounds of filet mignon gone in a flash!\u00a0 We had something new to us, a “potato bar” which was mashed potatoes and a choice of three toppings; broccoli & cheese, chicken pot pie, or pot roast!<\/p>\n

Fifty-plus folks are celebrating today!<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s time for some serious entertainment!!\u00a0 Irene is asking herself, “What am I doing here???”<\/p>\n

Whoever says “Ready Set” gets fired! Remember, we are grownups with an average age of eighty years who watch cheerleaders with great interest!\u00a0 We marched out quietly so Irene would not see us and that was hard to do since some of us are pretty clumsy, not mentioning any names!<\/p>\n
