Enough said!<\/p><\/div>\n

I woke up to the thought it\u2019s National \u201cHow Do I Change the Clock on my Microwave\u201d Day!<\/p>\n

Today, we didn’t do much except have a late breakfast.\u00a0 Vicky supplied us with burritos yesterday while we were working, and we enjoyed them this morning.<\/p>\n

I told Mary, “I have trouble with four-letter words: cook, wash, iron, dust.”<\/p>\n

My first task of the day was to adjust seven clocks – three outside and four inside.\u00a0 I also replaced the batteries in all seven of them.\u00a0 Scout, my pet, watched me curiously as I climbed up and down the ladder in every room of the house.\u00a0 He seemed to be trying to figure out what I was up to!<\/p>\n

Daylight Savings Time on Sunday should always be followed by a national holiday on Monday.<\/p>\n

“Watcha up to Pops?”<\/p><\/div>\n

When I tried to adjust the time on my grandfather clock, I discovered it was locked, and I didn’t have the key to open it.\u00a0 I hadn’t seen the key for the past 40 years.\u00a0 I decided to take matters into my own hands and used a large screwdriver to pry open the door.\u00a0 Luckily, there was only one screw holding the metal receiver in place so that I could open the door quickly.<\/p>\n

Being born in the 1940s had an advantage especially when it comes to change the clock time!<\/p>\n

Yes! It\u2019s Daylight Saving Time. The clock in my car will finally be correct!<\/p>\n

Dad bought this clock in the mid-1960s when he and I went to Europe!<\/p><\/div>\n

We looked for the key at the bottom of the clock but found other goodies instead:<\/p>\n

  1. A letter my father wrote to the clock store where he bought the clock in Switzerland requested some strings, and he even enclosed $2 to cover the cost, which was in 1968.<\/li>\n
  2. A report card from Jeanette\u00a0 (my estranged daughter) when Sue and I put her through the last two years of college so she could have a good life; I haven’t talked to her in years for some reason only known to her.<\/li>\n
  3. A picture of a dime store in Oklahoma in 1928 where my mother was working when she first met my father!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After the clocks were set, we watched a movie called The Book Club (the post-COVID series), which was hilarious and kept Mary and me laughing for 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

    The movie is about four best friends who take their book club to Italy for a fun girls’ trip they never had.\u00a0 However, things go off the rails, and secrets are revealed, turning their relaxing vacation into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.<\/p>\n
