This is so very true!<\/p><\/div>\n

The only remaining decorations from Halloween (that we could find) were outside, so we took them down and packed them away.\u00a0 My fantastic sidekick assisted me and collected the decorations from me as I stood perilously on the top of a twelve-foot rickety termite-infested wooden latter we bought from the second-hand store.\u00a0 I wondered why she asked me about the status of my insurance.<\/p>\n

The garage now looks naked with the hats removed; maybe Christmas wind socks?<\/p><\/div>\n

The final goodbye to Halloween was the lowering of the Halloween flag and the raising of the Thanksgiving flag!\u00a0 Mary suggested that I shimmy up the pole and change the flags; the rickety old ladder didn’t work!<\/p>\n

We kept waiting for the wind all day, but alas, the winds did not unfurl the flag; it said, “Happy Thanksgiving from Mary & Paul.”<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to Girl’s Night Out, where Mary was the only woman.\u00a0 The group included Bill, George, two Bobs, Will, and myself.\u00a0 We both had salads.\u00a0 The Chinese Chicken salad was delicious.<\/p>\n

On our way back home, we made a stop at the fur shop, where Mary collected her updated paperwork.\u00a0 After that, we visited the market to buy some essential items, including a three-pound chuck roast that will be cooked in the crockpot later this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The past windstorm was horrific, filling our front yard with an extensive collection of the neighbor’s leaves.\u00a0 Our flower bed was covered in leaves, so I needed a solution!\u00a0 I did think about bringing out the blower, but I like the neighbors too much, and if I blew them in the street, the leaves would come right back!<\/p>\n

They are beautiful and float like a magnet, attaching themselves to our yard!<\/p><\/div>\n

Then it came to me: A leaf that stings in the ocean is a jel-leaf-ish.<\/p>\n

Amazon was the answer!\u00a0 \u00a0I found a Blck and Decker 3IN1 DESIGN that easily converts into a corded leaf blower, vacuum, or mulcher for versatile use.\u00a0 The blower is ideal for clearing debris from hard surfaces and leaves from the yard.\u00a0 Vacuum is perfect for mulching leaves and other lawn debris.<\/p>\n

We ordered it at 10:00 a.m., and it arrived at 3:00 p.m.<\/p><\/div>\n

After struggling with the assembly, I finally got the machine working.\u00a0 Mary took a photo of the heavy bag.\u00a0 It takes the leaves and passes them through a fan that chops them into tiny pieces.<\/p>\n

Busy at work!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary suggested I go door to door and rent my leave removal services!\u00a0 I would fill the bag, back up to the barrel, and Mary would dump the contents into the bag.\u00a0 We did it four times, and half the yard was done!\u00a0 She is my partner and works with me as we attempt to keep the house in order!<\/p>\n

We cleaned up the yard in a matter of a few minutes!<\/p><\/div>\n

At dusk, Mary went inside to prepare dinner while I worked alone for the last 20 minutes.\u00a0 Satisfied with my progress, I cleaned up everything by 6:30 p.m., just before sunset.<\/p>\n

Inside, dinner was ready with a lovely salad, warm beef soup, and fresh cauliflower and broccoli appetizer.\u00a0 We are now avoiding wine and trying to lose weight, so we had some remaining punch from the pumpkin carving party!<\/p>\n

Inside is now devoted to Thanksgiving and Fall!<\/p>\n

I have a lot to give thanks for; we both do!<\/p><\/div>\n

We ended up binge-watching all eight episodes of the 1924 series.\u00a0 While Mary couldn’t just sit still, she decided to make a slow-cooker beef stew using a three-pound chuck.\u00a0 I helped by cutting up the meat while she prepared the veggies.\u00a0 We plan to set the slow cooker to turn on at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, so the stew will be ready when we get home.<\/p>\n

Before crashing, I wandered into the front yard to look at the lighting and ensure the banner was still up!<\/p>\n

It’s already past 11:00 p.m., and we talked before falling asleep!\u00a0 We discussed whether there are any plans to fill in the gap between 1924 and Yellowstone.\u00a0 So, I got out of bed and searched for the answer online and found two possible ideas mentioned – one is “1944,” and the other is “2024”.\u00a0 Hopefully, it will be done soon!<\/p>\n
