Our day is free and clear, which is a rare occurrence.\u00a0 We walked through the garden, and I told Mary, “I do my hair with scare spray on Halloween.”<\/p>\n

Halloween is the one time I’ll ask you to come as you aren’t.<\/p>\n

We had a salad and some bites of last night’s corned beef for breakfast.\u00a0 I heard Mary say something as she slaved over her cauldron.<\/p>\n

She had breakfast made in a jiffy!<\/p><\/div>\n

We also made apple crisps to munch on instead of the candy bars we had around the house!<\/p>\n

Why did the apple pie cry? Its peelings were hurt.<\/p>\n

What’s worse than finding a worm in your apple?\u00a0 Finding half a worm.<\/p>\n

Since we had more apples, I sliced some up and sauteed them in butter, followed by brown sugar, which is called Southern Friend Apples (I do not think they are southern, and they are sauteed, not friend).<\/p>\n

They were delicious!<\/p><\/div>\n

We called Jeff, our dear neighbor, and brought him corned beef and fried apples so he wouldn’t have to cook today!<\/p>\n

Mary watched “1883” again while I organized paperwork in the office.\u00a0 We found Scout resting up for evening activities as he is sure everyone is coming over to pet him!\u00a0 He gets all excited when the doorbell rings and waits for the kids to say, “Oh, what a beautiful dog. what is his name?”<\/p>\n

We got an image from Phoenix where Dan and Becky were all dressed up for the holiday!\u00a0 Remember: A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart.<\/p>\n

Becky and Dan were in costume also!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Duda Mansion is so scary that approaching its front door seems impossible.\u00a0 Monsters are real; ghosts are real, too.\u00a0 They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.<\/p>\n

I’ve misplaced my right hearing aid.\u00a0 My phone shows it’s in the front room, but despite searching it twice, we couldn’t find it.\u00a0 Thankfully, we have insurance coverage, so I’ll replace it when we visit Newport.<\/p>\n

That is the case!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was getting dark, and Scout wandered over and wanted us to put on his costume.\u00a0 We tried his tuxedo, but it was not clearly visible in the dark, so we put on his “Hot Dog” outfit, and he wore it the rest of the evening as he greeted our guests.<\/p>\n

“Yes, I am a hot dog!”<\/p><\/div>\n

The little children were initially scared, but when we opened the door and Scout walked out, everyone fell in love with him.\u00a0 He is incredibly gentle!<\/p>\n

Trick-or-treaters arrive.<\/p><\/div>\n

During the break between visitors, we made several phone calls, and Mary, the resident witch, performed her signature scream.<\/p>\n

I told Mary, “You are looking brew-tiful tonight!”<\/p>\n

We only had about twenty little gremlins, so we told them to take handfuls of candy!\u00a0 That made them quite happy! They all said, “Trick or treat! Want to repel my spell? Give me candy, and I’ll say farewell.”<\/p>\n

Toward the end of the evening, we left the pile of candy at our front gate, and we mosied over to Jeff’s to pay a short visit.<\/p>\n

Upon return, we had not seen our neighbor’s little ones, so we brought them over an entire two-pound bag of candy.\u00a0 They were so sweet; they came out and brought us each a candy bar.\u00a0 Kelvin came out and visited for a few minutes.\u00a0 We are lucky to have great neighbors.<\/p>\n

We treated our neighbors!<\/p><\/div>\n

The moon rose as we returned home. We mistook a 737 for witches on brooms.<\/p>\n

It was a dark and spooky night!<\/p><\/div>\n

Our iPhones made noises, and it was Becky and Dan with a short video!\u00a0 We didn’t realize there were still dinosaurs in Arizona!<\/p>\n
