We booked our next cruise! Now, where is the bar located?<\/p><\/div>\n

We had to walk to the next block and wake up the roosters!\u00a0 We got up and started moving at 5:30 am since we had an appointment in Newport Beach at 8:30 am sharp.\u00a0 We hurried through the garden at around 86 miles per hour, which made the spiders very unhappy.<\/p>\n

While Mary took a shower, I cleaned the house for the cleaners’ arrival at 8:00 am.<\/p>\n

We decided to take the Jamboree Road instead of the 55 freeway because the freeway was already congested.<\/p>\n

The history of Jamboree Road: <\/b>In 1953, Corona del Mar hosted the first Boy Scout Jamboree on the West Coast near where Fashion Island mall stands today. Jamboree Road was constructed to get the 50,000 Scouts and their equipment to the site.<\/div>\n

Our first appointment went well, and we proceeded to our next appointment near St. Joseph’s Hospital.\u00a0 The purpose of the appointment was to have Dr. Cobb analyze my heart’s four days of monitoring data.<\/p>\n

His verdict is that the old man will need open heart surgery in the next year to two years to fix a valve and replace the aorta with plastic as it is enlarged.\u00a0 \u00a0He plans to do a CAT scan to get an exact idea of what is causing the enlargement.\u00a0 \u00a0Great, I have to wait until I am 79 or 80 to become the 6 million dollar man!<\/p>\n

Did You Know?<\/b> When the wall of the aorta weakens, an enlargement of the area can occur. Typically, any enlargement measuring less than 4 centimeters is considered non-surgical and can be treated with non-invasive measures, such as beta-blockers and lifestyle changes.<\/p>\n

Dilation of the ascending aorta measuring more than 4 centimeters is considered an aneurysm. Depending on the aortic wall’s size, shape, and state, ascending aortic aneurysms often require reparative surgery if the patient is at high risk for rupture. All patients with ascending aortic enlargements or aneurysms should closely monitor their blood pressure and stress levels to avoid exacerbating the condition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Leaving the doctor’s office, I suggested the Royal Khyber, and Mary agreed!<\/p>\n

When we arrived (it was a 16-minute journey), the manager (who I have known now for 35 years) met us at the door and escorted us in. Plus, he had a bottle of Cakebread waiting for us!<\/p>\n

That’s my girl; she was always there for me even after receiving the news, which was not great!<\/p>\n

We texted our friend, Jim the bartender, and invited him to dinner at 6:00 pm!<\/p><\/div>\n

I have never tried Kyber Ambrosia before, but today, I ordered it, and it was fall-off-the-bone delicious.\u00a0 I used the juices to flavor my rice, and now my tummy is full, making me feel good!\u00a0 Bring on the operation!<\/p>\n

Lamb shanks cooked with Khyber’s Secret Recipe for over 14 hours.\u00a0 Served with basmati rice & Nan.\u00a0 Kings with harems claimed, “It’s an Aphrodisiac!”<\/p>\n

Mary had soup and salad and thought both were excellent.\u00a0 It’s too bad many people believe all Indian food is the same and consists of curry!<\/p>\n

Due to heavy rainfall, South Indian food incorporates a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables native to the region.\u00a0 You’ll also find that many of the typical dishes in South Indian food are vegetarian, which is the main difference when comparing North Indian food to South Indian food.<\/p>\n

Royal Khyber specializes in Northern Indian food items, which means more meats!<\/p>\n

The soup was delicious!<\/p><\/div>\n

We shared the eggplant spicey salad cooked with tomatoes and onions; it was fantastic.<\/p>\n

When I looked away, Dr. Mary snatched the bone from my plate and began gnawing on it with such vigor it would have put a ferocious lion to shame!\u00a0 When she finished, there was no evidence that the little white stick had ever had meat on it!<\/p>\n

Perhaps gnaw was not a good word to describe what I witnessed.\u00a0 Maybe chew, chomp, devour, gnash, grind, lacerate, munch, torture, rankle, or scrape might be a better choice.<\/p>\n

The sound of her teeth on the bone was blood-curdling!\u00a0 The kitchen staff hid in the walk-in freezer and locked the door. Two couples ran for the front door and locked themselves in their car until the manager asked Mary to cease and desist!<\/p>\n

Mary saw a piece of meat on the bone and went right after it!<\/p><\/div>\n

Before we departed, Mary asked to take the remnants of the bone home!\u00a0 \u00a0After a close examination, we decided to leave it at the restaurant.<\/p>\n

While driving home, Mary called to arrange to have our mani-petti done!<\/p>\n

Mary, with you, I can be my silliest best and never worry about being judged because you are my better half in the truest sense. I love you!<\/p>\n

I suggested orange and black; I was vetoed!<\/p><\/div>\n

After the manicure, Dr. Mary was so tired that she crashed as soon as we got home.\u00a0 While she was resting, I decided to clean our water feature, which had accumulated a lot of dirt over time.\u00a0 It was a lengthy process, but I will eventually return it to its normal, beautiful condition.<\/p>\n

Z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary had made Russian Beef Stroganoff for the evening, and we wanted to share it with someone.<\/p>\n

After considering it, we decided to call Jim, who used to be our bartender at the now-defunct Rib Trader.\u00a0 Jim had undergone two years of serious surgeries, and although we had talked to him, we never got around to visiting him.\u00a0 However, he could join us this evening, and we were delighted to have his company.<\/p>\n

Why is beef stroganoff popular in Russia?<\/b>
\nThe dish is named after the Stroganov family, a wealthy Russian family in the 19th century who were known for their love of beef dishes. Beef Stroganoff has been a part of Russian cuisine for many years and is often served at special occasions and events.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jim met us when we were “dating” back in 2020!<\/p>\n

We were so engrossed in conversation that we forgot to take any photos, but luckily, I found two snaps from two years ago!<\/p>\n

We went to The Mining Company and enjoyed a delicious steak.\u00a0 We hit it off and had a great time together.<\/p>\n

We were overlooking Orange from a perch high on the hill!<\/p><\/div>\n

Jim joined us at 6:00 pm, and we dined and yacked until a little past 10:00 pm!\u00a0 It’s great fun, and lots to catch up on!<\/p>\n

We crashed at 10:30 pm, and I slept through until 5:15 am with the CPAP contraction connected to my nose.<\/p>\n
