We relaxed this morning and did not go to the garden until almost 10:00 am.\u00a0 We had some wind last night and we had several stalks fall over but nothing like this poor guy!<\/p>\n

We had some wind!<\/p><\/div>\n

Corm gets worms as moths land on the silk, deposit their eggs, and the large move down the silk into the corn.\u00a0 We took precautions on the second batch as we put a few drops of mineral oil on the silks, which will keep the larvae from moving.<\/p>\n

We picked corn and got some worms.<\/p><\/div>\n

We harvested some goodies, and Mary made Bruschetta; we invited our neighbor over for dinner as we wanted to try the Glenfiddich Scotch, 18 years young.\u00a0 We had a great time.<\/p>\n

What is Glen in Scotch?<\/strong> Why Many Whiskies Are Glen-something – The reason for so many Glen-something whiskies is because ‘glen’ means ‘valley’ in Gaelic. There are a lot of hills in Scotland, so there are lots of glens. Distilleries are built in glens because: 1. You need a lot of water to make whisky, so the bottom of a valley is an excellent place to be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We all sat around and told war stories until almost 8:00 pm.\u00a0 We decided to watch TV tonight and stay out of the hot water!<\/p>\n
