Borning?\u00a0 Nope! Every morning is something new in the garden.\u00a0 We found green beans, and the blueberries are going wild.\u00a0 The tomatoes are beginning to come on, but the cold weather has inhibited their growth this year.<\/p>\n

No rain today; time to walk!<\/p><\/div>\n

We departed the house at about 9:00 am for a 10:00 am appointment with an endodontist.\u00a0 I have been having a tooth issue for almost a month.\u00a0 His office was just outside the South Coast Plaza Complex.\u00a0 We could not believe a homeless camp was set up at South Coast Plaza!<\/p>\n

Indeed, I need some work, so Friday, he will redo an old root canal and clean things up.\u00a0 The root canals in today’s world are nothing, and I wanted it fixed before we sail across the sea.\u00a0 We got a prescription for another antibiotic that needs to be started ASAP.<\/p>\n

We went to the Pacific Ranch Market to get some beef ribs!\u00a0 We wanted to try them out before inviting family for Father’s Day!<\/p>\n

It’s fun to shop and see the latest items on display!<\/p><\/div>\n

Their butcher shop carries everything, and the beef ribs looked terrific, even at $22\/pound!\u00a0 We also picked up some high-end booze, meatballs, crackers for tomorrow’s board meeting, and other exciting items.<\/p>\n

I asked the butcher, “What is the best way to cook alligator meat?” He thought about it briefly and responded, “In a croc pot.”.\u00a0 I think I have found a kindred spirit!<\/p>\n

We ended up spending $500 in the store; great fun!<\/p><\/div>\n

After returning home and unpacking, it was almost 3:00 pm, and Dru popped over for a much-needed visit. We talked to her for two hours and planned dinner with her shortly.<\/p>\n

We puttered around until it was time for dinner.\u00a0 I am blessed because Mary always has something new up her sleeve.\u00a0 She saw some ready squash when we walked the garden this morning.\u00a0 I picked pocked them up and began preparations.<\/p>\n

One could hear my freshly sharpened saber whizzing through the firmament at speeds approaching that of light.\u00a0 Scout stood back in sheer amazement as light reflected from the side of the blade as it slashed through the squash skins with an exactitude approaching that of a trained surgeon!<\/p>\n

Fresh from the garden<\/p><\/div>\n

Saut\u00e9ed in olive oil for about 5-7 minutes, they were ready to be added to the pasta and meatballs Mary worked on!\u00a0 Zap!\u00a0 Like that, we had a delicious dinner.<\/p>\n

Chop and dice!<\/p><\/div>\n

We diced up the honeydew melon for dessert, which was so sweet we did not even need whipping cream!\u00a0 Honeydew melons are lovely due to their high content of natural sugars, and the sugar content increases as the fruit ripens.\u00a0 Honeydew melons are very high in vitamin C and are a good source of potassium.<\/p>\n

They are not to be confused with “Honey Dos.”<\/p>\n

I asked Mary, “What did the watermelon say when the honeydew asked it to run away to Vegas and get married?” She was waiting for another of my terrific punchlines, so I said, “Sorry, I cantaloupe!”<\/p>\n

We ate about a third of the melon.<\/p><\/div>\n
