Sad but true!<\/p><\/div>\n

We are learning to observe as we glide through the garden every morning.\u00a0 We especially look out for our twenty-eight tomato plants because they are vulnerable to many diseases.\u00a0 Dr. Mary does the initial examination, and then I follow the doctor’s directions and take the appropriate action.<\/p>\n

I hate it when Mary’s diagnosis says, “The plant is lonely and needs someone to talk to!”.\u00a0 I feel silly sitting on my little chair next to a forlorn tomato attempting to carry on an intelligent conversation.\u00a0 Sometimes the tomato is smarter than me, which is embarrassing!<\/p>\n

We are sharpening our senses, looking for trouble.<\/p><\/div>\n

We jumped in The Silver Fox and headed for PT at 8:25 am.\u00a0 I dropped Mary off and went to my burger joint, and this morning, I had a burger with double onions!\u00a0 I got caught!\u00a0 As Mary exited the PT activity and sat in the car, she noticed a whiff of onion.\u00a0 I guess here olfactory senses were working overtime as I tried to talk and inhale simultaneously.<\/p>\n

We drove home and began doing our chores.\u00a0 Mary finished off taking down Easter while I was relegated to prepping for the expected rainstorm coming later on tonight.\u00a0 I covered the roll-around cart, removed the plastic packing boxes, and removed the trash cans.\u00a0 The stencils arrived from Amazon, so I painted our address onto the top of the trashcans, but I may have over-achieved.<\/p>\n

After stenciling them all, I had one too many – oops!\u00a0 I think I put our address on the neighbor’s trash can; I hope the paint remover will work.<\/p>\n

The front flower beds got a dose of Miracle Grow, and the trees got some “Moon Juice.”<\/p>\n

Easter went away!<\/p><\/div>\n

We opted out of going to the Elks as we will be going tomorrow anyway; we worked until 4:00 pm and were dragging!\u00a0 We may have to return to work; this retirement is a killer!<\/p>\n

Scout came over to sniff us after hours of working around the house; I guess he wanted to make sure we got everything done.<\/p>\n

He was barking to the tune, “I am pretty”\u00a0 He was right; he was quite pretty.<\/p><\/div>\n

After a few minutes of Scout itemizing what we failed to do, we were off again.\u00a0 Our American flag was getting tattered, and I lowered it and attempted to change it, but alas, the new one was only 3×5; I needed a 4×6.\u00a0 Amazon to the rescue, we will have two new heavy-duty outside American Flags tomorrow.<\/p>\n

I asked Scout, in my best Aussie dialect, “Where was the flag of the USA first\u00a0 hoisted?” He should have known that from his citizenship test, but he didn’t!\u00a0 So I told him, “On a flag pole!”\u00a0 He bit me twice, once for the question and once for the answer!<\/p>\n

He apologized and reminded us that he is “Doggone pretty!”<\/p><\/div>\n

Rain?\u00a0 What rain?\u00a0 The skies were bright and clear.\u00a0 I used some magic to make a cloud laugh.\u00a0 It was myst tickle.<\/p>\n

Where is the rain?<\/p><\/div>\n

By 4:00 pm, the billowing white clouds disappeared, and the grey waterlogged rain clouds replaced these beauties.\u00a0 \u00a0We knew rain was on the way!<\/p>\n

Magnificent skies.<\/p><\/div>\n

We were hungry and too tired to fix anything, plus Mary’s nose had been rep[processing by burger scent all afternoon, and you know what that means!\u00a0 In-An-Out, here we come.\u00a0 \u00a0I know the order by heart!\u00a0 Two cheeseburgers, hold the onions and lite-spread on the first, double onions on the second!\u00a0 Fries, please!<\/p>\n

By the time we got to the window, we needed one more order of fries to take to Jan’s on our way home.\u00a0 We needed to drop by and see her anyway because her wish for a straw so she could drink out of the bottle was answered by Amazon!<\/p>\n

22″ straws for Jan!<\/p><\/div>\n

We joined Jan in a glass of vino, and I polished off a beer (non-alcoholic, of source).\u00a0 We visited with Jan for an hour and mentioned we were looking for small pie plates, ceramic in nature.\u00a0 Jan hurried off to the garage and brought back eight perfect little ceramic pans.<\/p>\n

We have a total of eight, and they are Aulberge, top-of-the-line oven to dishwasher safe!<\/p><\/div>\n

Then Jan looked through our new book on “small pies” and made an order!\u00a0 She also demonstrated the proper way to potate*<\/strong> wine using a straw!\u00a0 We laughed and headed home for one more pass around the house to ensure we were battened down for the onslaught!<\/p>\n

*<\/strong> the act or an instance of drinking or inhaling!\u00a0 (For those of you in Rio Linda)<\/p>\n

Jan got her 18″ straws!<\/p><\/div>\n

We watched “Jungle Cruise” with the Rock.\u00a0 It tells the alternate history of the captain of a small riverboat who takes a scientist and her brother through a jungle in search of the Tree of Life while competing against a German expedition and cursed conquistadors.<\/p>\n

We had to laugh, it was funny!<\/p><\/div>\n

When we hit the sack, my phone went off, and this picture showed up.\u00a0 My lady only gets prettier all the time.<\/p>\n

Three years later, still beautiful!<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to sleep at about 10:00 pm after I took Scout for his pre-bedtime activities.\u00a0 \u00a0The skies looked threatening, and rain was on the way!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
