Getting the house clean for the cleaning ladies took about an hour.\u00a0 Domilita and Maria sometimes comment on how neat we are; little does she know how hard we work before she arrives.<\/p>\n

Mary was up and dressed in her grubbies so she could stay in the office while the master bedroom was completed.\u00a0 The girls have been with me for ten years, perhaps more.\u00a0 Domi sometimes brings me food she has made, but she is careful to label it “HOT HOT HOT” so as not to poison Dr. Mary.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

While the girls were in the back of the house, I got super busy and made a mincemeat pie for Jan.\u00a0 After I got the top on the pie,\u00a0 I did my carving. An egg white bath was needed to ensure the crust would turn golden brown.<\/p>\n

Domi came in while I was about to crack the egg into a small cup, and apparently, I looked puzzled (and I was).\u00a0 I forgot if the yoke was used for or not, and Domi giggled and said, “Paul, I think you are supposed to use the white only!”\u00a0 She saved me!<\/p>\n

Before; ready for the oven!<\/p><\/div>\n

She was quite correct, as thirty minutes later, the eggwhites did their work, and we had a beauty to deliver to Jan.\u00a0 It has been years since I made a pie, and I was so happy it turned out!<\/p>\n

Baked to a golden brown!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary wandered into the kitchen to see what all the commotion was bout.\u00a0 Maria and Domi were admiring the results.\u00a0 Mary snapped a photo for proof.\u00a0 Next week I will make a pair of pies; one for Domi and one for Vicky. I needed my chef’s hat!<\/p>\n

I dood it myself!<\/p><\/div>\n

The time was up, and the Silver Fox and I had to leave for Jan’s house to meet the piano movers!\u00a0 Jan gave us a new piano from her dance studio, and since it was coming down her 13 stairs and up our 15 stairs, we hired professionals!\u00a0 Why count the stairs, you ask?\u00a0 They bill $10\/stair for moving plus the basic move and mileage cost.<\/p>\n

Jan, according to GPS, is only 1.6 miles away, so I was there in a flash!<\/p>\n

When Jan saw the pie masterpiece, she could not believe it.\u00a0 It tickled me as she was a master chef, TV and radio personality, and author of many cookbooks!\u00a0 I got a thumbs-up based on how the pie looked!<\/p>\n

Someone liked the artwork!<\/p><\/div>\n

The piano came down fast, so Jan was asked to call and tell us how it tasted.\u00a0 The Silver Fox and I had to run home to open the doors for the guys to complete the move.<\/p>\n

I got a note from dear friend Vicky after I told her about the pie:<\/p>\n

They showed up when I arrived; I opened the front door and showed them the stairway.\u00a0 “No problem,” they said.\u00a0 I guessed fifty years ago; I would have said the same thing.\u00a0 I looked at the job and hid in the kitchen, awaiting an expected crash!<\/p>\n

Up it goes into the music room.<\/p><\/div>\n

The new addition is perfect since Mary and I have some experience with the piano, and being in the ballroom, I know others will step up and serenade our guests.\u00a0 Now we have to get it tuned after the move.<\/p>\n

Almost ready to play!<\/p><\/div>\n

The guys did a great job; they were very professional!!\u00a0 Mary took the picture!\u00a0 How did I know? Look in the mirror.<\/p>\n
