The day started with a thud; Scout was unhappy.\u00a0 We asked him, and he broke up with his girlfriend Cody from down the street.\u00a0 It was sad!<\/p>\n

Oops!<\/p><\/div>\n

Once we counseled him, we got back to his happy self!\u00a0 We wanted to walk the garden, but Mother Nature had other ideas.\u00a0 It was colder than a well-diggers bottom, so we stayed inside until after our morning coffee.\u00a0 With a large cup of joe warming our insides, we braved the cold and scampered around the garden admiring our work.<\/p>\n

First, we went to PT, and Mary’s PT had been extended.\u00a0 We got a full report on the progress, and all was well, with her range of motion going from 30% to 90%.\u00a0 Another few weeks and she will be back to normal; lookout dancing, he we come.\u00a0 We will be back to bopping, <\/span><\/span>discoing, <\/span><\/span>rocking, <\/span><\/span>shaking a leg, <\/span><\/span>hoofing it, <\/span><\/span>cutting a rug, <\/span><\/span>tripping the light fantastic, and other steps we have forgone since the accident!<\/span><\/p>\n

From Santa Ana, PT, we went VFR to Los Alamitos and picked up my latest blood test targeting the kidneys and hormones for blood pressure regulation.\u00a0 We got the data and are consulting our doctoring friends about the meaning.<\/p>\n

We had planned to be at the Fish Company at 11:00 am, and we made it with time to spare.\u00a0 Vicky and Jim met us there, and we laughed, giggled, and dined on some delicious food for an hour and a half.\u00a0 We are sooooo very happy for them!<\/p>\n

Mary and I both had rainbow trout!<\/p><\/div>\n

We departed, leaving a gift for Vicky; sea boogers, often known as oysters.\u00a0 We got a dozen made up of four different kinds.\u00a0 The only one I remember was “Naked Cowboy.”\u00a0 No, seriously, they were called “Naked Cowboys.”<\/p>\n

\nIn 2009 when Chris Quartuccio, owner of Blue Island Oyster Company, was looking to introduce a new local oyster to Manhattan, he struggled with a name for his unique brand\u2026until he passed the Naked Cowboy playing in the streets!\u00a0 They talked and worked out an arrangement with the word; the rest is history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Vicky and Jim make a great couple.<\/p><\/div>\n

When we asked Vicky if she knew the Naked Cowboy, she refused to answer!<\/p>\n

We departed the Fish Company at about 12:30 pm and went to El Dorado Park Senior Citizens Center (Mary took me as I am too young).\u00a0 The Yachtsmen were there playing for us old folks; amazing good music.\u00a0 We arrived, and the tango was underway.\u00a0 We met up with several couples we have known for years.<\/p>\n

The old folks were swaying, <\/span><\/span>spinning, <\/span><\/span>whirling, <\/span><\/span>twirling, <\/span><\/span>pirouetting, and <\/span><\/span>gyrating to the music<\/span>;\u00a0 it was a sight to behold!\u00a0 We would have stayed and danced, but Scout was outside, and we had a delivery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We were friends with six dancing couples and knew most of the band!<\/p><\/div>\n

Our car has a precious load of clam chowder needing delivery to David, so we opted out of dancing and headed east on the 22.\u00a0 As we arrived at Dianne and David’s, it began to snow.\u00a0 Not hail but actual snow!\u00a0 I thought about running naked through the snow, but David threatened to call the police!<\/p>\n

See the white specks on the car?\u00a0 Snow!\u00a0 Mary wanted to build a snowman, but she forgot her tweezers.<\/p>\n

Snow?\u00a0 In California?<\/p><\/div>\n

Since she was getting over a slight cold, she stayed inside the car, and I delivered the cargo to David, who was in the garage watching the city from his perch high on the hill!<\/p>\n

My head was singing with the words. “ flakes, <\/span><\/span>snowdrift, <\/span><\/span>snowfield, <\/span><\/span>snowpack<\/span>; <\/span><\/span>snowfall, <\/span><\/span>snowstorm, <\/span><\/span>blizzard<\/span>; <\/span><\/span>sleet, <\/span><\/span>hail, <\/span><\/span>soft hail<\/span>; <\/span><\/span>avalanche”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The storm was right over us and snowing nicely.<\/p><\/div>\n

We went home, and within two hours, the sky was blue, and everything was still wet, but the day changed dramatically.\u00a0 According to our rain gauge, this storm brought us one inch of water.<\/p>\n

Three hours later, the storm was gone.<\/p><\/div>\n

The yard was so clean, with all the leaves being washed of their accumulated dust, grime, filth, and soot!\u00a0 The greens looked so greenish\u00a0and <\/span><\/span>viridescent, with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>olive green, <\/span><\/span>pea green, <\/span><\/span>emerald green, <\/span><\/span>lime green, <\/span><\/span>bottle green, <\/span><\/span>Lincoln green, <\/span><\/span>sea green, <\/span><\/span>sage green, <\/span><\/span>acid green, <\/span><\/span>eau de Nil, <\/span><\/span>aquamarine, and <\/span><\/span>aqua standing out in the sun!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The sky was amazing.<\/p><\/div>\n

The gazebo withstood the precipitation, including three torrents, <\/span><\/span>downpours, <\/span><\/span>deluges, <\/span><\/span>squalls, and <\/span><\/span>thunderstorm<\/span>s of the past two weeks!<\/span><\/p>\n

The gazebo was soaked.<\/p><\/div>\n

The garden was smiling, and the whirligigs were dancing with the breeze.<\/p>\n

The garden was happy!<\/p><\/div>\n

We wanted a dragon fruit, so we got one at Home Depot.\u00a0 It is much smaller than the one below, but eventually, we will have an exotic to dine on in the garden.<\/p>\n

Our little tree will soon look like this!<\/p><\/div>\n

We buy them when they are less than $100\/pound.\u00a0 The inside is very interesting.<\/p>\n

We stopped by CVS to get some meds and then went to Ralph’s to pick up essentials.\u00a0 OMG, we came out with bags and bags of groceries.\u00a0 We got Jan some of her favorite chips and a dozen eggs.\u00a0 During our visit with Jan, she gave us a cookbook called “The Sinatra Celebrity Cookbook: Barbara, Frank & Friends Hardcover \u2013 January 1, 1996”.\u00a0 Every copy of this fantastic cookbook goes to help the Barbara Sinatra Center for abused children in California.<\/p>\n

Today’s kids would not know half of the celebs in the book, but we did!<\/p><\/div>\n

We scanned the book, and Mary was licking her chops.\u00a0 Tomorrow begins using the book to make the recipes.\u00a0 We will report here!<\/p>\n
