We have a wonderful south-to-north breeze most of the time, and we like to open the door to the bathroom to enhance the airflow.\u00a0 However, at night we closed the door to secure the house.\u00a0 Today, we fixed that problem!<\/p>\n

We have a full security screen that no one can go through without a diamond-bladed saw.\u00a0 We can leave the door open, lock the screen, and let the breeze do its thing.<\/p>\n

Even the Big Bad Wolf can’t get through this door!<\/p><\/div>\n

When John was about to leave, I walked down to Fred’s house.\u00a0 Fred wanted a security door like ours on his front door.\u00a0 I left John and Fred talking as I headed back home.<\/p>\n

John was here one hour, and we now have a security door at the back of the house.<\/p><\/div>\n

We had cereal for breakfast, meaning raisin bran, yogurt, granola, and bananas.<\/p>\n

Did You Know?<\/strong> Granola is a breakfast and snack food consisting of rolled oats, nuts, honey, or other sweeteners such as brown sugar, and sometimes puffed rice, usually baked until crisp, toasted, and golden brown. We did some chores awaiting the refrigerator repairman to show up, but finally, at 11:00 AM, he called and said he was running out of time and apologized.\u00a0 We were happy he called and rescheduled; otherwise, we would have had to wait two more hours.<\/p>\n

We got gussied up and headed to Altadena at about 3:00 PM; we have no idea how people survive driving in traffic every day!\u00a0 We arrived at the country club at 4:40 PM and went directly to the lounge.\u00a0 \u00a0While we are not members, Joe Sloane, the GM, had allowed us to join the folks in the lounge on days we travel from Orange to Altadena.<\/p>\n

Tonight was a “Black and White” ball, so Mary had on her white fur coat, which was great because it was cold!<\/p>\n

Before the dance, we had some appetizers and a glass of wine at the country club!<\/p><\/div>\n

We sat in the lounge for two hours just talking, enjoying a glass of wine, and working through the Korean hot wings and the flatbread.<\/p>\n

I told Mary I felt heroic today;\u00a0 I might rescue some alcohol trapped in some bottle.<\/p>\n

Mary was on the internet looking for a 1960s outfit for our next dance entitled welcome to the 60s.\u00a0 I will wear my sweatshirt that says, “I survived the 60s twice.”<\/p>\n

It should arrive on the 20th!<\/p><\/div>\n

Good groceries and nicely presented!<\/p><\/div>\n

At 6:30 PM, we headed upstairs to the ballroom and visited with the Scalzos, long-time friends and current leaders of the Rondaliers.\u00a0 \u00a0Wyatt Haupt and gang were setting up, which means we will have terrific music this evening.<\/p>\n

I take limbo dancing so seriously that I\u2019d bend over backward to win a competition.<\/p>\n

Where do fortune tellers dance? At the crystal ball.<\/p>\n

…and the band played on.<\/p><\/div>\n

We danced quite a bit, considering Mary still has a broken wing.\u00a0 We kept to the slower songs and avoided wild gyrations.<\/p>\n

As you can see, we have a wonderful time together.\u00a0 Mary and I shared stories with our tablemates, and we all had a great time.<\/p>\n

Around 10:00 PM, Mary’s arm was acting up, so we headed home.\u00a0 The freeway was wide open.\u00a0 We had to use the 210-57-50-91-55 freeways to get home.\u00a0 \u00a0The moon was full and beautiful, so Mary attempted to catch what we were seeing.\u00a0 She did a super job considering we were traveling at 70 MPH and the lighting was not cooperating,<\/p>\n

We drove home, and it was a 43-minute ride (versus 1:42 coming)<\/p><\/div>\n

Just before we got home, we decided to stop at Aces Bar and Grille for a nightcap.\u00a0 We did not drink very much at the dance because we knew we had to drive all the way home.\u00a0 I was so full of diet coke and Ear Grey tea that I was sloshing!<\/p>\n

We closed the place!\u00a0 (OK, they were ten minutes from closing when we stopped in!)<\/p><\/div>\n

We hijacked the jukebox as soon as we came in, and in a few minutes, everyone there was singing and bee-bopping around; they seemed to enjoy good music!<\/p>\n

Good night all!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was a perfect day.\u00a0 We discussed our bucket list, and we made the first step!<\/p>\n
