Fact: Hanging stockings started by accident <\/span><\/strong>Legend has it, we hang stockings by the chimney with care thanks to a poor man who didn’t have enough money for his three daughters’ dowries. Generous old St. Nick dropped a bag of gold down their chimney one night after the girls had hung their freshly-washed stockings there to dry. That’s where the gold ended up, and the tradition stuck.<\/em><\/p>\n

We were up early and feeling pretty good after several days of being “under the weather”.\u00a0 Mary worked in the house getting Thanksgiving packed into storage containers while I de-weeded the garden and took care of several outside chores.<\/div>\n

My big responsibility was to keep the grass watered; it is looking pretty good and maybe this week we will begin weeding activities, oh joy!<\/div>\n

Around mid-afternoon, the dinner bell rang and Mary had fixed another super turkey sandwich.\u00a0 I know not what magic she puts into her creation but whatever it is, it makes the sandwich better than a T-Bone steak!<\/p>\n
