Fact:<\/strong>\u00a0 Worms prepare for a flood:<\/strong> Worms wriggle up to the earth’s surface before a flood.\u00a0 Because they cannot get oxygen when the soil is flooded, they come up to the surface to breathe.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dancing last night took its toll; we were not awake until almost 7:30 AM.\u00a0 We scrambled, got our morning coffee, and were ready to hit the road at 10:30 AM.<\/p>\n

While we were getting ready, Carlos and his nephew came over and scalped our trees; they were getting large and beginning to rub the top of the He-Shed and She-Shed, plus they were hanging over into our neighbor’s yard.<\/p>\n

Before the treatment, they were pretty but too big for the area.<\/p><\/div>\n

In a few hours, the haircut was finished!\u00a0 It looks like it will never come back, but indeed it will!<\/p>\n

After<\/p><\/div>\n

Our security camera picked up the activities while the trimming was underway.\u00a0 They did an excellent job of cleaning everything up afterward.<\/p>\n

Our first stop was to drop off Scout at the hairdresser; he enjoyed the visit and looked pretty afterward.\u00a0 I have a question:\u00a0 At what age is it appropriate to tell my dog that he\u2019s adopted?<\/p>\n

Then we went to South Coast Plaza and visited Macy’s as Mary needed a new purple dress; we found two and came home with both.<\/p>\n

We needed gas and a visit to Chico’s, so we went to Los Alamitos, but on the way, hunger pains began striking us, so we stopped at the club.<\/p>\n

I suggested a new restaurant called Karma.\u00a0 There’s no menu.\u00a0 You get what you deserve.<\/p>\n

Mary likes the Old Ranch menu, and we shared a hamburger and a small salad with cream of broccoli soup!\u00a0 We managed to down a glass of wine while we enjoyed lunch.<\/p>\n

The seat by the window lets us watch the activities, including the wild animals at the course.<\/p>\n

The Pelicans were our fishing in the last this afternoon!<\/p><\/div>\n

We are coordinating our visit to Detroit, so we currently answer all calls.\u00a0 Mary decided my sore foot needed a foot doctor’s attention, so she called our friend, Dr. Bill! actually pretty painful.\u00a0 I keep telling myself, “Pain is only temporary, no matter how long it lasts.”<\/p>\n

Getting ready for next week’s travels.<\/p><\/div>\n

After lunch, we got gas and dropped by Chico’s, and they did not have any shorts; it was the end of the season.\u00a0 One more stop, the Chico’s in Huntington Beach.\u00a0 BINGO!\u00a0 Mary was able to get a new pair of shorts.<\/p>\n

Returning home via the hairdresser, Mary got a package from Amazon.\u00a0 The four decorations now have a new home on our back patio, and the lights look wonderful1<\/p>\n

Mary got a surprise when we returned home.<\/p><\/div>\n

I sat the rest of the day with one foot in the ice water.\u00a0 The decorations are 90% up; we need to attack the Halloween Tree tomorrow morning, and we will be done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
