Fact: It’s Saturday Night!\u00a0 Chevy Chase first uttered that famous line on October 11th, 1975.\u00a0 <\/strong>The sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live would become one of the longest-running series of all time, with over 47 seasons as of 2022.<\/em><\/p>\n

We were up at 6:00 AM, hit the firepit, and watched the fog moving out over Santa Ana.\u00a0 The yard is quiet; the only sound is an occasional bird flying by.<\/p>\n

The garden progress is slower than I thought, but it will be done correctly.\u00a0 All the trenches are in for the 6″-8″ wall foundations.<\/p>\n

Almost twenty yards of dirt have been moved to date!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin came out to inspect things, and I walked her through the plans for the various vegetable beds.<\/p>\n

“Oh my goodness!”<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob popped in about 9:30 AM, and we had breakfast.\u00a0 Mary made Egg-McMommies.\u00a0 We had a bottle of champagne so the day would be good no matter what happened.<\/p>\n

Bob and Robin took off to Corona and got a rental car, then back to Los Alamitos to visit the car and get the dash-cam chip.\u00a0 On the way back, they suggested a Pierogi dinner; we opted for that in three seconds flat.\u00a0 Eating this many pierogi at once?\u00a0 That’s my Pierogi-tive.<\/p>\n

Pierogi or their varieties are associated with the cuisines of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.\u00a0 However, they most likely originated in China and came to Europe via trade in the Middle Ages.\u00a0 The widely-used English name pierogi was derived from Polish.\u00a0 In Ukrainian, Russian, and Belorussian, they are called varenyky.\u00a0 Pierogi are also popular in modern-day American and Canadian cuisine, where they are sometimes known under different local names.<\/p>\n

Typical fillings include potato, cheese, quark, sauerkraut, ground meat, edible mushrooms, or fruits.\u00a0 Savory pierogi are often served with a topping of sour cream, fried onions, or both.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mary and Bob did the cooking, I did the picking, and Robin supervised the drinking; it was a team effort!<\/p>\n

While cooking and dining was going on, Alexa got a workout by playing Polish\/German music.\u00a0 We called Hans and Kristen and chatted with them for a while.<\/p>\n

After dinner means wine by the firepit, Robin did not want her portrait this evening; speak to the hand.<\/p>\n

The chef gets a break!\u00a0 Bob did a magnificent job with the pierogi dinner.\u00a0 Mary added some stuffed eggplant to the mix, and the four of us were stuffed!<\/p>\n

I had my new shirt on; check the doggie’s face!\u00a0 Yes, Scout, The Wonder Dog is proudly portrayed on my chest!<\/p>\n

The fire was beautiful, and we sat and talked until it got dark.\u00a0 We love our family very much, and making a pierogi dinner was an excellent idea!<\/p>\n
