Fact: In China, a newborn is considered age 1.\u00a0 <\/strong>Thus, a one-year-old in the West and most other parts of the world would be aged two years in China.<\/em><\/p>\n

Today many, many, many, many, many, moons ago, Mary came to us!\u00a0 Sometimes I see it in my mind.\u00a0 How scary it must have been to be born in a cave with the sound of dinosaurs ravaging the forest for food just a few yards away!\u00a0 Mary was brave.<\/p>\n

Remember when!<\/p><\/div>\n

I asked Mary if she felt old.\u00a0 She said, “Sometimes!\u00a0 When I went to the antique auction last week,\u00a0 three people bid on me!”<\/p>\n

The first order of business was to go to the gym and do our hour workout so we can stay healthy.\u00a0 When Mary got out of the car, I thought she had dropped a cereal box, but it was just the newly developed (since midnight) “snap, crackle, and pop” sounds of the old bones.<\/p>\n

I assisted her to the door and guided her to the first exercise machine.\u00a0 She did well as everything began to loosen up from that point forward.\u00a0 By the end of the session and the eight exercise machines later, Mary was so loose that things were starting to fall off!\u00a0 Needless to say, I assisted her to the car and helped her get inside.\u00a0 (I am going to pay for this!)<\/p>\n

Returning home, we fed Scout the wonder dog.\u00a0 He has a message for mommy!<\/p>\n

We refreshed ourselves and took off at 11:00 AM for the bank and the Santa Ana Elks!\u00a0 We had a good-sized group today, and Ronnie dropped by and learned about the birthday.\u00a0 Ronnie belted our seventeen choruses of The Happy Birthday Song, and he was still singing when we departed an hour later.<\/p>\n

Ronnie came to serenade Miss Mary!<\/p><\/div>\n

We all had a great time.\u00a0 Girls Night Out has been going on now for two years, and we seldom miss going to visit our friends.<\/p>\n

\"\"

Oh oh!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob assisted me in keeping Mary giggling!\u00a0 He was quite a gentleman and found Mary a tall glass for her false teeth.\u00a0 It was a little odd because those teeth kept staring at me while she gummer her soft food.<\/p>\n

Bob and Mary and me; Mary was surrounded!<\/p><\/div>\n

Ronnie told us a story and gave Mary a bouquet; he is a good friend!<\/p>\n

A story shall be told!<\/p><\/div>\n

Back home, we re-freshened up, and Mary put on her new birthday dress.\u00a0 We walked the yard examining the veggies and making a mental list of what we have to do this weekend.\u00a0 Now that Mary is up in years, I plan to provide her with a walking stick.\u00a0 Oh, not to walk but to bop me over the head should I misbehave!<\/p>\n

We walked the backyard before going to D&D’s<\/p><\/div>\n

At 5:15 PM, we took off to see David and Dianne.\u00a0 Dianne cooked up Mary’s favorite meal, Veal Piccata.\u00a0 It was delightful!\u00a0 Our hosts provided us with generous portions of our favorite wine, Two Buck Chuck!\u00a0 We talked and giggled and solved the world’s problems again!<\/p>\n

Now that Mary is a little older, I cut up her dessert into bite-sized portions.\u00a0 Strawberry shortcake. Yummy!!<\/p>\n

Confucius say\u2026 wise man makes sure that his wife’s birthday cake is short one candle.<\/p>\n

Duh!!<\/p><\/div>\n

Our chef did a magnificent job.\u00a0 I told her, “I’m no cook; when I want lemon on chicken, I spray it with Pledge.”<\/p>\n

Dianne, our hostess and gourmet chef, had a good time!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was time to go home after a lovely meal and a lot of banter back and forth!<\/p>\n

David and Mary!<\/p><\/div>\n
