Fact: Japan consists of 6,852 islands.<\/strong> The islands were originally attached to the eastern coast of Asia, until tectonic activity caused them to split off, creating the Sea of Japan around 15 million years ago.<\/em><\/p>\n

The kids departed early and went to Vista to visit Jon’s dad.\u00a0 We worked around the house and rested.\u00a0 We remembered we wanted to try Japanese food for dinner so we made reservations at the Hibachi Steak House and asked Dianne and David to join us.\u00a0 We had great fun!<\/p>\n

We made reservations for the Tappan area. Most people agree that teppanyaki was first introduced by Japanese chefs as a grilling style<\/b> in the U.S. Teppan translates as iron plate, and yaki translates as pan-fried or grilled. Teppanyaki grills are found in many Japanese restaurants as long, flat grills where guests are seated.<\/p>\n

The evening was made special by Dianne and David joining the meal!\u00a0 David is originally from New Hampshire so he and the kids have a lot in common!<\/p>\n

We enjoyed our guests! Mary liked the volcano so we will have to try it at home!\u00a0 As soon as the big garden gets in and we have a load of large white onions growing, we sill begin practicing.<\/p>\n
