Fact: Eukonkanto is a wife-carrying contest.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Originating from 19th century\u00a0Finland, this wife-carrying contest is exactly what it sounds like: Competitors race each other while carrying their spouses.\u00a0 Traditionally, the winner gets his wife’s weight in beer as a prize.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The cuckoo went off at 6:00 AM, followed immediately by the alarm clock!\u00a0 \u00a0(I will pay for that one!)<\/p>\n

We had to be at the gym at 8:15 AM!\u00a0 OMG, can I go in my jammies?\u00a0 Hey, at least I am not wearing my babydoll nighty this morning!<\/p>\n

I rolled Scout out of bed and sent him to the south forty for his morning stretch.\u00a0 Since we planned to be gone for a while, I fed him breakfast.\u00a0 This morning he wanted a turkey sandwich and a hot cup of coffee.\u00a0 While Scout was outside, I was reading the local paper.\u00a0 I am beginning to worry!<\/p>\n

Scout is quite clever!<\/p><\/div>\n

7:45 AM, and we are off and running, going directly to our gym and Tustin.\u00a0 I consider my refusal to go to the gym today as resistance training!\u00a0 My muscles were rippling in anticipation of a vigorous workout by the time we got there.\u00a0 The distance between the car and the front door was thrilling!<\/p>\n

We spent 45 minutes on the various torture devices.\u00a0 I remember once when I was captured and tortured by a mime, he did unspeakable things to me.<\/p>\n

By 8:30 AM, we were done!\u00a0 Now it is off to Los Alamitos as Paul needed a blood test for next week’s physical.<\/p>\n

I told Mary, “Once, a priest, a monk, and a rabbit went to a blood bank.\u00a0 After the blood test, the rabbit exclaimed,\u00a0 I think I am a type o”.<\/p>\n

I cheated and studied for the blood test last night, so I am sure I passed with flying colors.<\/p>\n

We went home via CVS and the gas station because we did not want Scout to be alone for too long a period.<\/p>\n

Thursday; Girls Night Out;\u00a0 Here we come!\u00a0 I gave Iris a peek at the book she gave me two weeks ago, and there was a real surprise inside.\u00a0 Ask us what it was if you are interested!<\/p>\n

Mike and Linda were at Girls Night Out.\u00a0 Next week is St. Patrick’s day, and we hope Mike and Linda will bring their grandson!\u00a0 He is 18 and should have a good time with us.<\/p>\n

We did a “meals on wheels” visit to Bill before coming home and settling in for the evening.\u00a0 It was cold, so we kicked on the heat and had a great dinner; a grilled cheese sandwich never tasted so good.\u00a0 I fixed some pickled cucumber slices, and we had a glass of wine while talking to Lisa & Pete.<\/p>\n

We read for a while and decided we like our e-books!<\/p>\n

The rest of the evening, we worked in the office for a while before hitting the sack and watching “Support Your Local Sherriff.”<\/p>\n
