Fact:\u00a0Roller coasters were invented to distract Americans from sin!<\/strong> –\u00a0In the 1880s, hosiery businessman LaMarcus Thompson hated that Americans were tempted by hedonistic places like saloons and brothels. So he set out to straighten up one of the most immoral places he could think of: Coney Island in New York. There, he built America\u2019s first roller coaster to give New Yorkers some good, clean fun\u2014away from seedier pastimes.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are busy today and Scout informed us that he has an appointment at the groomer!<\/p>\n

We are making plans to go north for a wedding.\u00a0 This will be our first road trip while married and it ought to be fun.<\/p>\n

Neice Lisa and Patrick are tieing the knot!<\/p><\/div>\n

We had our coffee, went through the mail, and then went to the office to go through the e-mail and pay bills, ugh!\u00a0 We got a text from the glass company and they are coming Saturday to put in the closet mirrored doors.\u00a0 I have a plan to cut the doors in half vertically and use them in the attic to walk on since the attic is so large. More storage and less pain on the feet!<\/p>\n

We will have ten large sliding doors and that will easily make twenty 80″-long planks!<\/p><\/div>\n

We departed the house at about 11:00 AM as Scout, The Wonder Dog, had a groomer appointment.\u00a0 We will get him on our return home and he will be magnificent looking (and he will know ow it!)\u00a0 We asked Scout how he wanted his hair done and he best described it like:<\/p>\n

We are bad parents; we said “No Way!!!”<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s Thursday and that means Girl Night Out at the Elks.\u00a0 We made it to Santa Ana by 11:30 AM.\u00a0 Some people call it Thursday, I like to call it Friday Eve.\u00a0 We had a large group today so the level of fun was increased.<\/p>\n

Mike was in rare form today!<\/p><\/div>\n

Leon and Marsha joined us today as we have been talking up “Girls Night Out”.\u00a0 Linda wore her hat as did Mary but alas, I failed to capture Mary in her hat.<\/p>\n

The Branders joined us today.<\/p><\/div>\n

Returning home, Scout was not ready yet.\u00a0 That was worrisome so we decided to stop at Aces and enjoy a glass of wine and dance a few dances.\u00a0 We have control of their Internet Jukebox.\u00a0 The company is called TouchTunes.\u00a0 They install their digital jukebox free of charge and they shared the revenues with the restaurant\/bar.<\/p>\n

MAry has an App on her phone where we can select the music we want.\u00a0 The patrons love our music and we get to dance!\u00a0 We did a swing, a chacha, and a waltz today!<\/p>\n

Good selection of real music!<\/p><\/div>\n

Scout was ready when we went back by the groomer.\u00a0 Home was only two miles away. We had to be home at 3:00 PM because Juan was coming by to wah the fleet.\u00a0 I also had a few moving chores for him.<\/p>\n

While the fleet was being washed and I was moving things around on the garage, Mary fired by the kitchen and made Borscht.\u00a0 Borscht is a sour soup common in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. In English, the word “borscht” is most often associated with the soup’s variant of Ukrainian origin, made with red beetroots as one of the main ingredients, which give the dish its distinctive red color.<\/p>\n

Mary whipped up Borscht this evening<\/p><\/div>\n

I was the official chopper and dicer!\u00a0 Things are easier in the kitchen with two because Mary does not have to stop and chop.\u00a0 She requests; I do; we eat!<\/p>\n

I sliced and diced.<\/p><\/div>\n

In a couple of months, we will be able to go out into the garden and pick our own!\u00a0 The mason is coming over Saturday morning to make the estimate for the large garden.<\/p>\n

All the cut-up goodies looked great in the soup.<\/p><\/div>\n

With the precision of a surgeon (oops, she is a surgeon) the ingredients go into the pan and then into the pot and in an hour we will dine like royalty.\u00a0 While cooking, I got ketchup in my eye, but I didn’t wash it because Heinzsight is 20\/20!<\/p>\n

I did mention to Mary that if Cinderella was given the task of cooking and not cleaning, then she would have been named Mozzarella!<\/p>\n

Into the pan it goes!<\/p><\/div>\n

The results were magnificent.\u00a0 The soup has zero calories but it has 1,000,000,000 flavors.<\/p>\n

Life is good!<\/p><\/div>\n

MAry planned dessert; she found a large box of itty-bitty chocolate bottle containing booze!\u00a0 Two of those and I was ready to crash!<\/p>\n

We had a small dessert this evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

We talked to Colleen and Robin while having dinner getting our daily gossip quotas.<\/p>\n

We did our nightly coordination with Robin.<\/p><\/div>\n

We crashed and didn’t even turn on the TV, our readers were busy.\u00a0 TOmorrow is an early day as we have appointments to get pretty like Scout at 9:00 AM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
