For Halloween, we are dressing up as almonds. Everyone could tell we were nuts.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

At 2:00 AM, the clouds opened up, and rain poured down.\u00a0 It finally stopped at 4:30 AM and we had received a lot of water!<\/p>\n

Mary retires in seven weeks and I have been retired 14 Years, 6 Months, and 16 Days!<\/p>\n

We got into the Swim Spa at 5:30 AM after making sure the sky was free of clouds.\u00a0 We had 1 1\/2 inches of rain last night!\u00a0 The sound of the rain needs no translation!<\/p>\n

My math teacher said, “Pie Are Squared,” and I told him, “No silly, Pie Are Round!”<\/p><\/div>\n

We both have decorations that will be deployed in the new house. Today is free, so we are going to decorate, and that means I must go up into the attic above the garage and pull out several boxes. I think this will require assistance from Colleen.<\/p>\n

We already did our first Halloween event at Roger’s Gardens<\/a>.\u00a0 We are having loads of fun with the holiday seasons upon us!<\/p>\n

The skeletons were scared of these two!\u00a0 Why are skeletons so calm? Because nothing gets under their skin<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary zoomed at 7:30 AM, and I finished the Daily Diary!\u00a0 It was now 8:45 AM, and Colleen was off doing errands!\u00a0 I found an ancient family tree at my aunt’s house many years ago.\u00a0 I had it at Los Alamitos and wanted to put it up at Casa Valencia.<\/p>\n

Colleen took the old document to Michaels, and they decided a $200+ frame and special glass was needed to preserve the writing.\u00a0 It has my father’s and grandfather’s birth and death recorded, plus my three aunts on dad’s side of the family!<\/p>\n

It is a treasure of family information!<\/p><\/div>\n

First things first, we had to find all the decorations.\u00a0 Remember, we are combining our stuff this year and putting them into a new home! That should be fun finding new locations!<\/p>\n

Colleen and Mary decided to fly last year’s broom around the backyard while making a sharp turn to the right, and the engine exploded.\u00a0 No one was hurt!<\/p>\n

I needed to ask, “Why did the broom decide to go to bed?\u00a0 He was getting sweepy”\u00a0 That was pretty bad but I did outdo myself because I asked, “What is in a ghost\u2019s nose? Boo-gers.”<\/p>\n

The girls tried a test flight, and we had a problem! They called AAA.<\/p><\/div>\n

I told the girls about the little broom who was curious!\u00a0 Why was I booed and who threw the half-eaten cupcake?<\/p>\n

Mommy broom and her child are walking outside.<\/strong>
\nChild: “Mom, how did you and dad make me?”<\/strong>
\nMom: “Oh, we swept together.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, I rolled in boxes of decorations!\u00a0 Now we will go through the process of opening them up and seeing where we ought to put stuff.\u00a0 Thank goodness Colleen is here; she is pretty talented!<\/p>\n

Halloween is coming!\u00a0 What is behind box number two?<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary and Colleen began the process, and Colleen decided to refresh an old Halloween Pyramid which had been boxed up for years.\u00a0 It is looking pretty good now!<\/p>\n

Some of our combined decorations have been around for decades!\u00a0 The Halloween Pyramid needed some serious work!<\/p><\/div>\n

Christmas pyramids (German: Weihnachtspyramide) are Christmas decorations that have their roots in the folklore and customs of the Ore Mountain region of Germany but have become popular internationally. They comprise a decorated pyramidal outer frame with candle holders and a central carousel with a rotor at the top, driven by warm air from the lit candles.<\/p>\n

The carousel was decorated with nativity scenes and other Christmas figures such as angels and wise men and worldly motifs such as mining folk and forest scenes.<\/p>\n

Generally, Christmas pyramids are made of wood and based on four- to eight-sided platforms with a long pole in the middle serving as the axle. The entire apparatus tapers above and which supports any further platforms. Inside in a glass or ceramic support is a driveshaft onto which at least one platform is attached. The figures, which stand on the platforms are also traditionally made of wood.<\/p>\n

Christmas pyramids take various forms from intricately carved miniature houses with pitched roofs to large multi-level structures that simply display the carved figures. In many cities in the Ore Mountains there are large Christmas pyramids on the Market Square at the Christmas Market or in other locations associated with Christmas hustle and bustle.<\/p>\n

Most of the pyramids demonstrate nativity scenes. They include the story of the Christ child being born, of shepherds and wise men visiting the child, and of angels rejoicing in heaven. The nativity scene often is placed on the most extended shelf at the bottom of the pyramid, while a pine cone or a star would crown the top.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The girls had a plan; after work, we met Robin at the Outlets Of Orange.\u00a0 We got there a little early and went to a restaurant to have a glass of wine.<\/p>\n

I saw a pretzel on the menu.\u00a0 I figured out they were the size of the ones at Disneyland; wrong!\u00a0 They were gigantic!\u00a0 We ordered three, and Robin took one and a half home with her!<\/p>\n

Off to the Outlets Of Orange, an open-air outlet mall in Orange, California, in central Orange County developed by The Mills Corporation and now owned by Simon Property Group.<\/p>\n

I stayed outside and guarded the exit so they could not come out with too much stuff!<\/p><\/div>\n

There were some interesting stores and restaurants there, but I was not up for anything after the little snack we had!\u00a0 I should have known but I did not look at the price when I ordered them; fourteen dollars each!\u00a0 We could have used them for boat anchors!<\/p>\n

It smelled delicious as we passed the establishment!<\/p><\/div>\n

We headed for home and continued decorating.\u00a0 Around 8:00 PM, we three headed to the swim spa, the first time Colleen had used it.\u00a0 We sat in there for 45 minutes and discussed today and the plans for tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The house is coming along just fine!<\/p><\/div>\n

I worked so hard today that I lost some more weight!\u00a0 I mentioned to Mary that we should ask the skeleton for dinner because I love to hear him say, “BONE appetite.”\u00a0 I find that that HUMERUS.<\/p>\n

We all crashed before 10:00 PM; the swim spa worked its magic!<\/p><\/div>\n

I am getting old!\u00a0 I remember when Halloween was the scariest night of the year. Now, it’s Election night.<\/p>\n
