The only bakery I loved at the 4th of July carnival was selling pastries with stars and stripes. Others were just un-pastry-otic.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The morning started as usual: work, work, work!\u00a0 \u00a0Mary worked inside, and I tackled the garage.\u00a0 Mary has everything so organized that the packers and movers will have it easy!\u00a0 The garage will be a challenge; more gets moved into the Casa Valencia garage and then dispersed for sorting through during the following week.<\/p>\n

This afternoon, I had to climb the ladder to change a lightbulb in the garage. It was the highlight of my day.<\/h3>\n
\"\"<\/a>

Mary did a yeoman’s job sorting through everything; it is now manageable!<\/p><\/div>\n

We broke at 10:30 AM, and Mary fixed breakfast while I loaded the van with donations to the Salvation Army.\u00a0 They are getting to know us quite well there!\u00a0 We have made five deliveries, and more will follow that next week.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I set the TV up to watch Dr. Stanley, our favorite TV personality.\u00a0 Mary asked what I was watching, and I said:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Hey! I’m getting old!<\/p><\/div>\n

After watching our televangelist, we worked for another hour before cleaning up.\u00a0 We headed to Joe and Amy’s home to celebrate the 4th!\u00a0 It feels so great to have a wonderful family.\u00a0 We talked to Colleen and Miss Robin this morning.\u00a0 We called Lisa & Pete, but they must have been out and about.<\/p>\n

We got pictures from Lilly and Remy; they were busy shopping! Two of my great-grandchildren!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Lilly says, “I will take one of each, please!”<\/p><\/div>\n

I texted Dr. Zaitz to see what he was up to, and from the picture, I would guess eight feet\u2014working on the 4th?\u00a0 I do know they are going dancing at 7:00 PM in Chino!<\/p>\n

I told Bob. “Isn\u2019t it funny how red, white, and blue represent freedom… until they\u2019re flashing behind you.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Luckily, the neighbor didn’t call the cops for indecent exposure!<\/p><\/div>\n

We departed for Casa Valencia at around 2:30 PM to water, check on the house, get the mail, and set the lights on for tonight! We watered and did some last-minute preps for this week’s move.<\/p>\n

Many of the veggies were ready to pick, so we did.\u00a0 They will be for dinner this week!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We picked a mess of veggies!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Mexican Zucchini was full size, and we captured about six of them before they went wild and attacked the City of Orange!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The zucchini was amazing.<\/p><\/div>\n

The shed is shaking, and we are awaiting new arrivals next week; I plan to get inside and maximize the storage.\u00a0 I can’t believe someone broke into my shed and stole my limbo stick! How low can you go?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The shed is almost full now!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary waters the right-hand side of the yard as we do not have drip lines yet.\u00a0 I like water and wanted to play water polo but couldn\u2019t get the horses to swim.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Last-minute watering.<\/p><\/div>\n

It was a thirty-minute drive to Joe’s place, 55 to the 22 to the 5 to Beach Blvd.\u00a0 The traffic was light, so we hurried over there, arriving at 4:42 PM.\u00a0 Just in time for wine and snacks!<\/p>\n

A vegan said to me, “People who sell meat are gross!” I said, “People who sell fruits and vegetables are grocers.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Snack time!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was hot, so we stayed inside for about an hour, and as the sun began setting, we moved outside and talked with family!\u00a0 We are lucky; we have a bunch of super people as family!<\/p>\n

I’m just yacking with family! (Beauty and the Beast)<\/p><\/div>\n

Michele and Tony like their red wines; Mary and I prefer the whites.\u00a0 Tony, Joe, and I were cracking jokes the whole time.\u00a0 Mary fit right into the group!<\/p>\n

Michele & Tony enjoy their vino!<\/p><\/div>\n

Amy was busier than a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest!\u00a0 She made everything just perfect.\u00a0 A delightful lady and a wonderful daughter-in-law!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Joe rests up for this evening’s show as he is in charge of lighting up the night!<\/p>\n

Joe ‘splains how it works!<\/p><\/div>\n

Carri was here and in typical rare form: a good friend and a funny person to be around.\u00a0 Her one-liners cracked us up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Carri is always delightful!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was sunset, and we moved to the front yard with everyone waiting for the fireworks to start. It sounded like a war zone out there, with serious fireworks in every direction, much of it “illegal,” NOT safe and sane. Professional explosions were going on in every direction!<\/p>\n

Joe The Firestarter began this evening’s entertainment.<\/p>\n

The MC, also known as “Firestarter.”<\/p><\/div>\n

Joe’s tripod to raise the level of the fireworks was a super idea!<\/p>\n

I thought the Statue of Liberty was green.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bam! Flashes of light!\u00a0 The night was bright.<\/p>\n

We had quite a show!<\/p><\/div>\n

The old folks really enjoyed the show!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Everybody was in awe.<\/p><\/div>\n

Then, the kids put on a show for us.\u00a0 The grandkids had a ball with sparklers.<\/p>\n

The finale was a light show by the grandkids!<\/p><\/div>\n
