I think the homeless have it pretty good because 98% of deadly accidents happen inside the home.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Escrow closed today on my home, and I tease everyone that “I am homeless.”\u00a0 Well, nothing could be farther from the truth. Dr. Mary makes sure I am OK and will house me until the new house clears escrow on Monday; then, she can throw me out on my ear.<\/p>\n

I do get a little cold at night sleeping in the pup tent with the pup!\u00a0 The cars drive by and point because the pup-tent is an old Girl Scout tent and is bright pink!\u00a0 It must look odd with my size twelve feet hanging out the bottom and my little bald head hanging out the top. Until then, I have to be on my best behavior.<\/p>\n

I had to chase the neighborhood dog out of my test!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary again worked in the garage, and she is making progress.\u00a0 This week, the trash collector will bring in a crane to lift the trash cans.\u00a0 Eighty gallons of paper is a lot of dead weight.<\/p>\n

I went home this morning to write a check for my cleaning people and do some local errands.\u00a0 I returned to find Mary working hard and making progress.<\/p>\n

Tonight we went to dinner with Jim, The Bartender at the OC Mining Company; we have not seen Jim in a couple of months.<\/p>\n

In the autumn of 1974, some ninety-odd years after the last appreciable silver was coaxed from these hills, The Orange County Mining Company opened its doors to the public.<\/p><\/div>\n

We got there before Jim and imbibed in a glass of vino!<\/p>\n

I love that smile!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary had the “Miners Filly,” a thick & flavorful 8oz, Filet Mignon, with B\u00e9arnaise and Saut\u00e9ed Mushrooms.\u00a0 I’m, and I did the 14oz Angus ribeye steak.<\/p>\n

We had steak!!\u00a0 I admired how Jim ate the steak with chopsticks!<\/p><\/div>\n

We giggled and laughed for two hours.\u00a0 Jim was our bartender at The Rib Trader, and since it closed, he has been vacationing.\u00a0 We have missed him, but we decided to take a better aim next time.\u00a0 \u00a0It was great to see him again, and he is a neighbor our ours living near Chapman Avenue in Orange.<\/p>\n

I told Jim, “A bartender is just a pharmacist with a limited inventory.”<\/p>\n

Of course, Jim replied, “I was going to write a joke about alcoholic midgets, but I don\u2019t want to lower the bar.”<\/p>\n

Yes indeed!!<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to Mary’s and retrieved some food to do our “meals on wheels” thing.\u00a0 We sat and talked to Jan for another hour before going home.\u00a0 We enjoy Jan’s company a lot, and we can be very open with her knowing that “what happens at Jan’s stays at Jan’s.”<\/p>\n

It was almost 10:00 PM when we returned, so I watered the dog, and we crashed.\u00a0 I remembered a quote from many years ago!\u00a0\u00a0If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. \u2014Mark Twain<\/p>\n

My eyes just stared at the ceiling last night, thinking about being homeless and getting a new home next week and moving and….. overwhelming.\u00a0 I am blessed to have Dr. Mary at my side and being surrounded by family and friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
